I am worried that Im being scammed. I didnt officially make a reservation last February 2022 when I clicked on their site, I never put money down or gave credit card information. But they are insisting over text and email that I have a reservation for tonight and that they have my card info. They have been borderline rude up til now when I have tried to contact them, and only get a response over texting. There is no one answering the phone. I will update on whether somehow they are able to charge me as I have no intention of using this non - reservation.Getaway Cabins Response

I'm sorry but this is not our company. I cannot find ************************* in our system at all. She does not have a past or future reservation with us. We do not text our guests, and we are available by phone Sunday thru Friday 9am - 5pm est. We are a family owned business located in *******************, **** only.Review from Jonathon G

My wife booked the Bears Den cabin for our 1 year anniversary. When we arrived we were greeted by a washed out, steep gravel drive that had a deep hole that caused my truck to bottom out on the front core support. No harm no foul, I liked the setting, seemed quiet and could hardly see the other cabin to our left and was completely hidden from the road. The sounds quickly changed though. The semi truck wash/garage a 1/4 mile down the road flooded the quiet nature sounds with engine brakes and air horns, also the single wide trailer home at the end of the driveway had people screaming at each other into the night while my wife and I were sitting by the fire trying to take in the silence and nature you would expect with a cabin so far out in the middle of no where. The cabin had no WiFi or land line in the cabin, which we knew of when we booked. However, when my wife attempted to use the land line at the end of the drive, the phone did not work. No dial tone, no static just a dead line. When no other options are available for safety reasons, I did not like that feeling of having to walk around with my cell phone in the air waiting for a bar of signal or driving down the road to make a call. We decided to go to the office to let them know about the issue and see if they would fix it. The rental office was a 20 minute drive from the cabin. This should have been explained in the description of the cabin so a decision to stay closer could have been made. After only being at our cabin for 45 minutes we left to make the 20 minute drive to the office to make it before they closed. When they realized where we were staying they called the maintenance worker to have the land line. It took them about 15 minutes to reach the worker and one of the staff made the comment about him ignoring them to "run for the time clock". After the back and forth he was finally reached and told of the issue to which the response was "well why do you need the phone?". We bought some wood and headed back to the cabin, the worker pulled in just behind us and went to the phone. He worked with it for about 5 minutes, jumped back in his van, slammed the door and sped out of the drive. We went down to check the phone again to see it was replaced with some $10 ************* phone, still no dial tone. Chalked that up to the experience. Next was the overall inside of the cabin. The stove was burnt from what looked like getting way too hot at one point. Which we figured out why. When trying to use the stove we set the dial to 400, after about 10 minutes, my wife went over to check the temp on the internal thermometer only to realize the temp was actually 100 degrees hotter than she set and when trying to turn it down the dial was so hot it burnt her fingertips. The foil line drip trays on the stove had crumbs and residue from previous use that was not cleaned. Half the light bulbs were burnt out. Cobwebs were stringing from the lamp shades. The $55 add on for the bed of roses was obviously reused fake petals due to the large zip lock container left laying by the bed. So I was confused why it was so much money when it was something that was recycled for each order. The college dorm looking futon was propped up by the wall to keep it from falling flat into a bed. The hot tub had particles of what looked like mildew floating in it. Overall I was wondering if the cabin had even been cleaned prior to us arriving. The final straw to leave was when we went to bed at 1:30am only to realize the upstairs AC was only blowing room temp air and the loft was 15 degrees warmer than downstairs. The fitted sheet wasn't so fitted and came up as soon as you would sit in the bed, exposing the rubber mattress cover underneath. After all the disappointment for the price she paid for a 2 night stay we loaded up our belongings and made the hour and half drive home at 2am. We were very let down by this cabin and experience. We were so excited to disconnect and relax and to be able to bring our pups with us. Now that we have voiced our issues, in no way being rude or trying to cause issue. Just bringing light to the obvious problems this company has based on other reviews and issues. The owner has since replied to only a ******** message, not calls but on ******** of all platforms and immediately accused us of threats and defamation. It is almost copy and paste of responses seen on ****** reviews and descriptions given by other companies. This company is basically stealing money and has since blocked us on social media.Getaway Cabins Response

It is so unfortunate the turn of events in this situation. The issue started with the main phone line at the cabin being inoperable, and has escalated to anything and everything being wrong at the cabin. We are also astonished at the change in behavior from the time *********************** came to the office, to the defaming blasts that were posted on several social media sites, after they left without contacting us to remedy any housekeeping issues they now speak of. We encourage guests to contact us with any initial concerns so we can resolve the issues promptly, but the only verbalized complaint was of a phone outage.*********************** was very pleasant in the office, and apologetic when she realized, with the help of the office staff, that she had been texting and calling a totally different cabin company in regards to the phone issue before she came to our office. She was communicating with the company of their next stay, NOT Getaway Cabins. The office staff were trying to be helpful when asking why the phone was needed, informing *********************** that a family member could call the after hours emergency number if they needed to be reached. There is also a phone on the office porch for guests to use that provides free local/long distance calling.The comment regarding the timeclock is now being misconstrued. We stated, if maintenace were not reached by 5:00, a note would be posted on the timeclock so he would see it and then go to their cabin. We assured her, we would have someone there and we did. He replaced the phone line from the phone to the phone company's box, but it didn't resolve the outage. Our worker promptly returned to the office to contact the phone company so they could begin the repair on their end as quickly as possible. Getaway Cabins never received any calls from the Greenwoods about any issues. We were shocked when we saw the blasts on our social media page that they had left the at 1:30am and all the issues that were never brought to our attention. The defaming posts continued across several social media sites and negative reviews on every outlet in which we exist. And the complaints keep growing .Housekeeping mistakes can be made, but we were never given the opportunity to make things right. We were not even made aware of the issues until we were blasted on social media. The stove k**** were stained from use but the stove did not put out any more voltage than allowed. The stove plug-in and breaker were in good working order. We have since replaced the stove as it had seem some usage and we replaced the lightbulbs that were out. After the continued beratement of our company, we chose not to make amends with this guest.
