    On August 3, 2023, I met my granddaughter, ****** *******, at Firelands Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 904 E. Strub Road, Sandusky, Ohio, to co-sign a loan with her. She had already picked out the vehicle and all the paperwork was ready to be signed. We went to the loan officer's office and proceeded to sign the paperwork. I was never informed that I was a co-borrower with her. If I had been informed of this fact, I would never have signed the paperwork. I only wanted to co-sign and be responsible for payments only if she failed to make said payments. I was not there to be a co-borrower on the loan. I did not want to be responsible for the payments nor did I want to share ownership of the vehicle with her. I later learned from Ally Bank that I was a co-borrower and not a co-signer. The other problem I had with this loan officer was that we were not informed that the interest rate was 18.34%. This is a high interest rate for someone with excellent credit (over 800). I agree that my granddaughter has bad credit, but my excellent credit should have given her a better interest rate than 18.34%. The loan officer only informed her of her monthly payment and not the interest rate. I feel that he was in a hurry because we came in when the dealership was almost ready to close. There were others present with us when this paperwork was signed.

    Firelands Toyota in Sandusky Ohio is downright dirty to work with. While I'll was their looking in to buying a new Tacoma. The sales manager and or the used car manger evaluated my car for the trade in value. In which my car had no check engine light on before he touches it. After he came back from the test drive. He said the check engine was on. which is strange Cuz I've had no problem with my car since then. Just say I didn't tack any deal with these people Cuz the mess with something ON MY CAR. Right after I got done there I took to my mechanic and found what they did. What we figure out was. Somewhere during the test drive, they unhook one of the EVAP sensor. In which made the check engine light come on for that specific code (P0496 EVAP FLOW DURING A NON-PURGE CONDITION) This guy went on and on how he going to have to put 3500 dollars in this car to resale it and take that amount off my trade in value. I was not happy knowing caught him trying to screw me over on this deal and I left. I'm pretty sure he knew it too by the look on his face and was not willing to work with me after that. Also want to add that Ford 2019 escape report Faults to the ford app in real time and that fault came up right the manger came back with my car.

    We test drove the customers vehicle during the trade-in evaluation. At that time, it was noted that the check engine light was on. After our test drive, we also examined the CARFAX history report and noted no maintenance records recorded for 75,000 miles. We simply asked the customer about the check engine light and about the maintenance history of his vehicle. At that point, the customer became very defensive. (Check engine lights are normal. Repairs can be as inexpensive as $10 up to ... So we simply asked the customer if he knew the cause of the check engine light since he is a mechanic). We are not sure where to go from here with the customer. We invite the customer and the BBB to meet in person or via virtual means in order to resolve this issue.
