During the recent hot spell our AC was struggling so we called Perrysburg Plumbing and Heating, who we have used since we have lived here. We have trusted them. We were told that the Freon was low and that they could refill it but the price was high since R22 is in short supply. We were charged $766 plus the service call fee for up to 2 lbs and that we should probably look at replacing our units and that they would get us a quote. We received a quote and since it a large expense, we checked into other companies just to make sure we were getting a fair price. In conversations about our situation, I found out that other companies were charging much less (one said he charged $170/lb. for what I was charged $766 for. I called and spoke to someone in the office and explained everything (they record all calls) and was told the owner, ****, would call me back. What we received was an email stating that the price on the invoice included other items, none of which were listed. Of course this is very convenient after the fact. I want everyone to make a profit but believe that its poor business practice not to call someone back just because it might be inconvenient. I also believe trying to add details after the fact to enhance their position is laughable. We trusted them and feel we havent been treated fairly. Im sure this wont go anywhere but needed to get this out there.

We completed ***** service on July 2nd. *** called on July 16 and asked for the manager to call him back. I sent *** an email the same day detailing exactly what other work was performed (which was on his invoice) other than just adding 2 pounds of R22 refrigerant. In the email we included all pictures our technician had taken during ***'s service showing how detailed we are on every service call. Our photos showed the technician taking pictures of all readings of wet bulb, temperature split, capacitor readings, amperage readings, pressures and temperatures before and after adding refrigerant, and a charging chart showing charge we set correctly. Our technician was onsite by GPS records for 1 1/2 hours. *** was at the home during the time of service. *** was given prices before any work took place. *** agreed to the charges and our technician completed the service call. *** called later in the day on the 16th after reading the email to say he was disappointed that he only received and email and not a follow up call. I call *** on the 17th and again explained to *** that the price of $766 included all labor and materials used not just material. *** said since on the line item it only show adding two pounds of refrigerant he feels that is what he was being charged for. I explained to *** that the line item above showed all additional work that was completed under the service charge line item. *** was still unhappy. I explain to *** that he has been a customer since 2018 and we have all ways had one line item showing the price he agreed to before work was started.
