I moved into my apartment on 9/16/23. The management company had advertised many amenities that made this apartment attractive to me, one of them being a washer and dryer in the building that would not require me to go outside or to lift and carry a laundry basket filled with laundry a long distance or up and down stairs. I have multiple sclerosis, which causes spasticity, weakness, and extreme pain in my muscles, and I also have arthritis of the spine,hands, elbows, knees, and feet, which makes lifting and carrying a heavy laundry basket difficult and painful, so taking clothes to a laundromat not something I can do. Being forced to do that would also exacerbate my medical problems, so I was very happy to have a washer and dryer on the same floor and only a short walk away from my apartment. However, every time I have done laundry the dryer does not dry my clothes, forcing me to put more money in the dryer to fully dry them, plus making me take out most of the clothes and hang them up to dry even a half dozen light items, and even then the items are not fully dry on the highest setting. Obviously the dryer isn't actually set on high enough temperature to dry on the highest setting. I have done laundry for 4 decades, I can tell the temperature isn't set high enough. It took over 30 minutes to get just a few items almost dry, not even fully dry. The management company owns these machines and is taking money from me and other residents without providing a functioning machine. I should not have to pay twice and wait around twice as long for my clothes to dry. I don't even leave any heavy items in the load, I take them out and hang them before drying the light items, and those aren't drying. These amenities are one reason I chose to move here, due to my disability. The management company keeps saying there is nothing wrong with the dryer, but obviously there is a problem I I am drying barely any clothes and it isn't getting hot enough to actually dry them.
