  My deck built by Deck & Fence Renewal Systems in early May 2024 far exceeded my expectations. Bob was instrumental in designing an outdoor living space that optimized the use of a mildly ackward back yard. The crew was highly efficient and professional and clearly took pride in their appearance and workmanship. This deck will surely enhance our quality of life for years to come.

  Great crew and very good value. I was very happy with the work done on my 26-year-old deck. The crew were very neat as they pressure-washed, sanded, and stained the deck. I couldn't have been neater in doing the job myself. I would recommend this company to anyone. Ed A.

  Deck and Fence Renewal Systems replaced an existing single chain-link gate with a double wide gate. The crew (Jeff-Grady-James) were sent to do the removal and installation, Jeff and Grady did a great job. I would definitely contract Deck and Fence Renewal Systems to do any future projects.

  Jeff, James & Grady just left after tearing down my old fence and installing a new one, and I could NOT be any happier!! Not only do I now have a main gate that locks from inside and outside, I also have a small second gate that gives me easy access to the water spigot from inside my patio! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!

  I had a great experience with DRS. We had about 300lft of fencing installed with 2 gates, and they did an amazing job with it. They were quick and precise with the installation and answered any of the questions I had throughout the process. The gentleman and his son were a knockout team, and worked like a machine with the other always setting up the next move. Even though the crazy March weather we had they pushed though and got the job finished timely. I couldn't be more happier with my fence and the decision to go with DRS.

  Deck & Fence has been the easiest, professional, quality company that I have worked with in a long time. From the initial estimate to installation Bob was very accommodating. They sent a team out early prior to the fence installation date to remove my old gate section so I could have a prebuilt shed delivered and installed. Regarding fence installation, Dan and Nate are a great, professional team who work together like a well oiled machine. They encountered some concerns with one of my neighbors during installation. They were very patient, understanding and helped me work through a solution which was agreeable to all. They went above and beyond. Along the way, Nate also made a few helpful suggestions regarding the installation which worked out well. My new fence cedar looks wonderful. No comparison to the prefab box store fence that was here before. Highly recommend this company and their employees. Quality all the way.

  Kyle did a fabulous job in redesigning our deck. He installed a safer and wider stair case and removed the lattice and replaced with the proper baluster. Cleaned up all the debris. Very satisfied with this company. Reasonably priced for the quality of the work .

  We were dissatisfied with the service we received from Deck and Fence Renewal Systems (DFRS) (tearing down old deck and building a new 10 x 12 deck)for reasons below: 1)Failed 2 Major building inspections: in accordance with Montgomery County Ohio Building (MCB) Codes: A) The first major inspection (The FOOTING) was a FAIL in accordance MCB codes. The holes were in the wrong place. B) The second major inspection (the FRAMING and FINAL) was also a FAIL for at least 6 issues in accordance MCB codes:1) No blocking between joists 6x6; 2) Notched wrong beam; 3)Wrong size anchor bolts, need to be ½ bolts for ledger; 4) anchor bolts on ledger not staggered 5) Missing hand railing (grab bars) needed for upper deck 6) when hand rail was added it was placed incorrectly 2)Subcontractor/DFRS issues to include: DFRS stated that they had their own experienced employees and did not use subcontractors. A subcontractor showed up to do our deck. From the beginning, there was lack of meaningful communication throughout the project between DFRS, the subcontractor and the customer, i.e. start dates, approved project drawings and specifications, lack of any or correct building codes, lack of equipment availability, etc 3)Other Finds of the finished deck:(1) Loose hand railing on both sides going down the deck; corrected (2) Once lattice was put in, it was flimsy and not securely attached; it was corrected (3) At least one major beam/ handrail going down the stairs on right side was not connecting well with top railing;(4) several areas of the deck where beams and boards are supposed to connect are not connected well at all, i.e. gaps in several places! 4)Invoicing: According to quotation, payment was 25% down to start and the balance at the completion of the project. We received an early final bill in the mail and we received a text message requesting final payment before the deck project was complete and before the deck passed final inspection. 5)Fails corrected and approved by MCB

  Unfortunately this is an fairly accurate review from one of our clients. This project was contracted as we were expanding our business and acquiring new installation teams. This crew came highly recommended with all proper credentials. This specific project was the first and last completed by this crew. Lessons learned here. All permitting and site visits are now completed in house. We have hired an on staff Architect to ensure prints are accurate and build methodology is compliant with all Ohio codes. We sincerely apologize for the delays caused by the installation team. In closing the deck was built in compliance with all code requirements and the final inspection was approved and a stamp was issued. The company has learned a great deal from this failure and made infrastructure, and personnel correction to ensure this will never happen again. Thank you for the feedback!
