They installed the **** system in my new home, and it has never worked correctly because of their design flaws and failure to follow the manufacturers installation recommendations. I initially withheld payment of about $15,000 to get them to correct the issues. They came and did a few things so in a show of good faith I paid all but $3,000 wanting to be sure their corrections fixed the problems. They did not so I contacted them again and they claim this is a warranty item and I still owe them funds, so they won't fix it. This is clearly not a warranty problem. It is a faulty design and installation that has never worked correctly

We did offer to come back with a testo balance machine to verify air flow on March 4, 2025 and had no response to schedule this.  The last time our techs were at your house in February, they determined that the temperature differentials were at industry standards.  The only thing we could not verify without the testo machine was the cfm's per room per square feet.  Other than that temperatures are within industry standards.

The system passed all county mechanical inspections, and you now occupy the home.  Therefore, the installation period is complete, and warranty is now in place.  Our policy is that we cannot provide warranty service with an outstanding balance.  We will gladly honor all warranty requests once payment is received in full.

I'm rejecting this response. Alum Creek is welcome to bring their CFM calculation devise but the there are several deficiencies in their installation that must be fixed and are clearly not a warranty issue. It was improper installation that hasn't functioned correctly from the beginning. My living in the house has no bearing on this. They installed a Honeywell Zoning system. On *********'s website they specifically state that the preferred installation method is to include a barometric bypass damper. This wasn't done and it causes a lot of damper blowby and whistling. Their solution is to leave all of the dampers partially open which defeats the purpose of the zoning system. After telling me they could not provide a supply air feed to the lower level from both sides of the plenum they returned and did add one, but the problem is they installed an 8" duct to feed two 6" ducts and a 4" duct. It should have been larger, and they installed it off of another zone feed instead of off of the plenum as it should have been. They then reduced that 8" feed to a 6" duct and are feeding a 4" and a 6" duct from that so there is very little airflow out of either of them.

      Mr. *****,

We created a professional duct and system design for your home, that was approved by Delaware County.  Upon arrival of our installers, you insisted that they vary from the actual design and install the runs in another direction that you chose due to your preference for the placement of the runs in your basement.  Therefore, you altered our professional design.  ************** team returned to your house and took readings and even sent installers back to install an additional zone and run a few more duct to rooms in your home.  The air flow currently meets industry standard and the system meets all manufacture installation requirements.

The installation was completed, and we have tried to work with you in an effort to get paid for the system we installed in your home. You can't buy a car, drive it around for a year to see if it "may" need repairs before you pay for it.  That's what warranties are for.

Alum Creek Heating & Cooling does not wish to leave you with a system you are not satisfied with.  We just need to be paid for the service we provided to you.  So, in an effort of good faith, we do agree to have our office contact you and arrange a time for us to come to your home and do an air test on your system using the testo machine.  Once the tests are completed, the results will be gone over by you and our management team.  Hopefully you can come to a resolution of what you think the problem is with your airflow.

****** will be in touch to schedule a day & time for the test.

      Best Regards,

      Alum Creek Heating & Cooling

I am rejecting this response because:

I did not alter the design in any way. I followed your employee's directives on how they told me it needed to be installed. You did not add another zone. The system has never worked correctly so it's not warranty. You did not install it according to the manufacture's recommendations. You can continue to throw dishonest allegations, or you can just do what's right and fix the system, so it works properly. I've had three other **** companies here to look at it and they all had the same feedback except for one item. I think a few changes in the ductwork and a barometric damper would fix the issues so if you would decide to do what's right and stand behind your work we could get through this pretty quickly.

We have you on the schedule for tomorrow with all 3 managers to come to your home.  They will go over all of your concerns and address them accordingly.  We have installed dozens of systems like yours over the years, so we are experienced in how to install per manufacture recommendations. We've never had any issues such as you say you are having, but they will be addressed tomorrow.

The materials have been ordered.  ***** said he explained when he was there on 06/05/25 that it would be at least a week or so before we could get back because we are all booked up this week.  ***** said you agreed that would be okay.  As soon as we get an eta on parts delivery, ****** will call to get you back on the schedule.  Hopefully one day next week.
