I am writing today to tell you about our experience building a house with Breyerwood Homes, LLC and to implore you to refrain from giving this company any more permits to continue to build until the company finishes the work on homes in the neighborhood, including my own, that begun over a year and a half ago. When we began the process of building our home over a year and a half ago, we anticipated delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it has now been one year since we moved in, and Breyerwood Homes, LLC has yet to finish several areas of our home and has failed to fix several areas of shoddy handiwork, ripped screens, and faulty electrical wiring. When asked to finish work, Breyerwood Homes, LLC continues to ignore our requests, as well as the requests of our neighbors. When they do respond, they either tell us that the work will be done soon, or blames other contractors that they work with. For example, we have had two ripped screens and one faulty screen door for the past six months, and they continually tell us that they’ll be replaced soon, that “the guy” they work with is on vacation, that we’ve gotten a new representative, and that they’ve reached out and no one has responded. We had a toilet that leaked. A faulty water heater. We still have a backdoor that was not installed properly with a screen door that does not open properly. A window that will not open all the way. And floors on the second floor that were not secured to the subfloor. Our experiences are not exclusive to our home; we’ve spoken to the other four owners of the newly built homesBusiness response

We are not surprised but are sorry to hear that Mr. ****** is not happy with his new home, however
Breyerwood Homes has done far more than is required under the construction contract, home warranty
and far more than what a customer can reasonably expect when having a home built. After incurring
added expenses, numerous labor-hours, and trips to the house trying to please Mr. ******, it became
obvious that our attempts were futile, and it was going to be never ending.
He did not mention the warranty work and additional outside non-warranty work that has been
completed. Here are a few examples: they signed off on the construction plans, but after the rear slider
was installed, Mr.****** said they had ordered a special couch that would not work because of the
direction of the slider. They demanded we switch the active and non-active doors. We complied at no
charge. Their demanded/required switch of the doors may have created a problem with the sliding
screen door. We replaced the screen door at no charge. It slides back and forth, but the operation is not
“smooth enough” for Mr. ******. Further he found 2 minor barely visible inconsistencies in two
window screens’ mesh (that insects could not get through) were replaced. We completed the warranty
work. Most of the remaining items contained in his complaint are clearly excluded from the home
warranty even though we spent numerous hours trying to resolve his “issues”. Finally, he does not
mention, that we moved their washer and dryer to the second floor for them, assembled furniture and
cabinets that they bought at no additional charge and without a Thank You. They asked us to install a
wall bracket for a tv, that Mr. ****** and his father-law insisted was upside down; but it was installed
correctly, at no charge and without a Thank You. We even went way beyond the call and assembled
furniture for him that happened to be delivered on a Saturday when we were there working at no added
charge and without so much as a Thank You.
Finally, Breyerwood has completed the warranty work and non-warranty work while Mr. ****** owes
Breyerwood money, that he originally agreed to pay and now refuses to pay. Mr. ****** owes the
money for a smashed gutter that was replaced upon his request after he directed the moving truck into
the front of the house thereby smashing the gutter, a nest thermostat upgrade, and an upgrade to their
fireplace. The vendors invoiced us directly and we have paid the associated vendors for the items and or
work.
We appreciate the Better Business Bureau contacting us about Mr. ****** concerns.
