    I am Handicap. And have a Handicap ramp to get in and out of my house. Our handicap ramp was broken in several places with loose boards. G*** was to tear off old ramp and build new. He was also going to paint our Pergola. He quoted $1800 for the total job.
    Our family hired G*** the next day Thursday 4/17/25. He said he would start the job that Monday 4/21 but he needed half down. So u went to bank to get cash.
    Friday 4/18 I told him he could pick up his cash. He was here in 25 minutes.
    That Monday 4/21- G*** NEVER SHOWED never called, a week went by with no word.
    4/28 I texted him asking where he was? He said he had to move last week but he would start job May 5th.
    May 5th NEVER SHOWED. ,
    May 11th- I ask him where he is?
    He says he is behind because of the weather.
    May 17th. I ask him what is going on?
    He said Monday 9:30
    I tell him I will hire his son or a tree man to trim tree branche la by the ramp.
    May 28th I tell him to come any day.
    MY 30th. ***** **** Co came out it’s not worth them to cut a few branches. Said the man fixing our ramp should have a saw. I ask G*** to do it & pay him extra to trim tree. He says yes.
    JUNE 7th. Another week with no word, I tell him this has been going on since April and that if he can’t do the job by 4th of July we need our $900 back to pay someone else. He says yes ok you are on the schedule for JULY 7th.
    6-23 I text him and say we are on for 2 weeks from today! No word back.
    7-7 NEVER SHOWED. NO WORD.
    7-14 We hired a new contractor told him we need our $900 back. NO WORD.
    7-21- Told him we need our $900 back and if he doesn’t have it. He can break it up in small amounts. He texted back and said- Sounds Good.
    September 22 we told him that we read a complaint from the BBB in 2023 that he did this to another family, said we need our $900 back or we were going to report him. He texted back the BBB don’t mean much. I will get you some money back this week.
    OCTOBER 3rd. No money back No word from him.

    Gary B***- GAB Home Maintenance came in with the lowest bid for a wood deck and covering. Gary was courteous and claimed to be a god loving man, so we were happy to give him the business (and 1/2 the cost in cash as a deposit). Construction was supposed to begin on our deck and covering on 7/5 (to be completed by 7/7). Due to rain, this was pushed out, which is completely understandable.

    This was simply the beginning of the nightmare. Gary became very reactive vs. the proactive business owner he’d pretended to be. Here are the series of events:

    On 7/7, he said he’d be here between 9-10a. He showed up at 6p to set the posts.

    On 7/9, he provided an update after we inquired, mentioning he’d start that afternoon. Didn’t show.

    On 7/10, after we inquired, he said he’d be here between 9-10a and that we’d have him and his crew for 3 entire days to complete the job. He never showed.

    - On 7/11, after we inquired, he shared he’d be here and then later sent a photo of another deck he’d finished.

    - On 7/12 He and his crew, to our surprise, showed up and got a good amount of the deck completed.

    - When he did arrive on 7/13 (over 2 hours after his time provided), he said that he “needed a favor” he asked us to “settle up” on the job and they’d finish the deck that day. He said he’d then return on Monday to lay the pea gravel and start on the cover. When we said we weren’t comfortable settling up based on his performance and history of not following through, he said “fine, I’ll do do another job then”.

    It’s now 7/28. He’s responded to texts when we ask for ETA. He always provides a day, but never shows. He’s left a pile of wood, siding, and trash in our yard that he refuses to come pick up. He neglected to complete the job AND we now have to hire a contractor to fix and finish the lousy job that Gary did.
    - The steps are crooked and have no gravel under them
    - The siding he removed from our home is still missing
