I purchased a 2018 F150 on the evening of February 15th, 2023. On the morning of February 18th, 2023 I was driving my uncle home on the other side of town when the low oil pressure light turned on, so I pulled over to a gas station to check my oil level. The dip stick was dry as a bone so I went into the gas station and bought 6 quarts of oil. I decided to avoid the highway at this point as I was weary of what was causing this issue. Within 3 miles of putting all 6 quarts into the truck, the issue happened again, this time it was pouring oil out of the bottom of my truck. I immediately took the truck to nearest location that could asset the situation, which was Cronin Ford. After the initial look over by the mechanics at Ford, they explained that the timing chain cover was cracked, as well as the oil pan. They quoted me $4,200 dollars for the repairs. A few days later as the mechanics started on the repairs, it was realized that the issues were far greater as there were metal shavings in the engine, the gasket on the timing chain was absent, bolts were missing etc, and now the entire engine needs replaced. The timing change was replaced by the mechanics employed at Ibral Auto, as stated by the mechanic to me when I drove up there to talk about this situation. It is now very apparent to me that this issue was caused by the mechanic(s) at Ibral Auto. Now, I am stuck with a 12,084.72 dollar bill for the entire engine to be replaced. I've made several attempts to come to some resolution with the owner of this company, the most they have offered me is $850 dollars. I have since said that I may need to reach out to an attorney, now they refused to have a conversation with me at all. I bought the truck for $24,900. Not to mention not having a vehicle for 17 days and counting, now. It's mind bottling to me on how a business can legally operate in this manner.Business response

We are sorry to hear that our valuable customer is experiencing issues with the 2018 Ford F150 he bought from us on 02/15/2023.
The metal shaving means that the truck was driven a long distance with not enough oil in the engine and the dealership can’t be responsible for this.Even though and because our company always try to provide a good customer service, we used our partnership with a local certified service facility to bring down the cost of the repair to about $7000. We also offered to help with $1000 in cash in order to alleviate the burden on the customer.
Unfortunately, the customer didn’t appreciate this effort and said he will reach out to his lawyer. At this point, we had to stop the conversation with him.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ** ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below. The metal shavings were not from there not being enough oil in the truck. Cronin Ford advised the metal shaving were due to oversized bolts being forcefully threaded when the front timing cover was replaced. Cronin Ford also advised there were numerous improper repairs preformed on the truck (see attached pictures) that lead them to advise to replace the entire engine assembly. As for his reference for another mechanic, I do not feel comfortable letting anyone that is associated with Ibral Auto to do any repairs on my vehicle. Ibral Auto has already proven their lack of knowledge for auto repair with the truck I bought and in there response to my complaint "The metal shaving means that the truck was driven a long distance with not enough oil in the engine." I would prefer to have a certified Ford mechanic perform the necessary repairs. Also, I am not the only costumer that has experienced similar issues with Ibral Auto.

We are so sorry that the customer declined our goodwill to help him in this situation.
As the customer previously stated, the vehicle was driven without oil which will obviously cause serious engine damages.
At this point our company don't have better option than the help offered but was rejected by the customer.
