My fiancé and I reserved The Barn at Pineridge for our wedding and paid $4,900 in advance (3/15/2025). Due to numerous concerns with the venue and how it was being managed, we decided not to move forward with hosting our wedding there. We gave notice approximately 16 months (6/12/2025) before our event date (8/29/2026), so the venue had significant time and opportunity to rebook the space.

    Our concerns included:

Construction projects and property updates were not being completed as promised or communicated. During one visit, we were told unfinished bathrooms would simply be concealed by a curtain during events.

Contractors on site were observed smoking marijuana and then leaving without completing work. When raised to one of the owners, the issue was dismissed as something that “happens all the time.”

The barn itself still had basketball court markings on the floor, bird droppings, and spider webs, despite the owners claiming it had “just been cleaned.”

Landscaping and general upkeep of the property did not reflect what we were told, despite claims that the venue was “booked every weekend.”

The venue provides no setup or cleanup support on the day of events, placing the full burden on the couple or outside vendors.

Communication was consistently poor, with emails and texts often going unanswered until we followed up multiple times.

When we asked to cancel, the only refund options offered were:

A flat $1,500 partial refund, or

A conditional refund if the venue rebooked our dates — but only if we signed a legal release agreeing not to post any reviews or share our experience with others.

At this point, the venue has retained our full $4,900, despite providing no services or value in return. We are submitting this complaint because we believe the venue’s business practices — poor communication, misrepresentation of the property’s condition, refusal to work fairly with customers, and the attempt to silence us through a release — are harmful to consumers.
