    Work was done a year ago to repair a leak. The roof leaked at point of repair in recent storms. Contractor ran water from garden hose at same spot and roof leaked. No one has returned to investigate or redo repair and phone calls are not returned

     We completed a repair on June 13, 2023.  With repairs we offer a 30 day workmanship warranty.  His warranty time frame has expired.  With only completing a repair as opposed to a full tear off it is sometimes difficult to locate the leak.  In my past experience often times the sources of the most recent leak is not the area that we previously repaired.

    Horvath Roofing, Inc. was supposed to fix our houses issues with the roof and did not fix the problems. An inspection proved they did not fix the problems and refuse to come back to fix them.

    Horvath roofing was out to complete a tear off on her flat car port roof.  We tore off the roof and replaced one section of rotten wood.  ***** was emailed photos of the wood replaced, numerous in progress photos and final photos.  There is a section of roof that has a dip in it.  The only way to fix this is to hire a rough carpentry framer to install all new rafters.  Horvath Roofing installed a commercial grade flat roofing.  

    In regards to the gutter on the second story roof on the back side of the house.  ***** had called the office and stated the gutter was leaking.  We came out and cleaned and sealed the end cap on the gutter.  A month went by then ***** called the office again about the same gutter.  She stated the gutter was leaking.  Horvath went back out and it was determined that the gutter is not leaking. During a heavy rain and the step pitch of the roof and the gutter cover rain does fill up the gutter and run behind this section.  The only thing that can remotely take care of this issue is to install a larger 6 inch gutter.  If this would make ***** happy I am willing to meet with her to take a picture of the specific gutter to replace wo the upgrade to the 6 inch gutter.  She then can hire her own gutter contractor and I will pay that gutter company directly.

    We already sent the inspection papers of what need to be fixed. The gutter is still leaking. Shouldve been told before the roof was fixed, itd still have an area with a hole & water gathering in it.

    *************** your flat roof is under a full warranty.  Horvath Roofing *** did not build or frame your flat roof.  The only way to get water to not pond on a flat roof is to hire a rough framing contractor to frame the roof and put a pitch on the entire roof.  If one were to frame the area in concern it would create a low spot or puddle to either side of what would be framed to address the issue now.

     

    In regards to the gutter issue I have already stated for Mrs. **** to hire gutter contractor of her choice.  Let me see the proposal before work commences and I will pay the gutter contractor a reasonable amount.  *************** I would suggest that you take me up on my offer to remedy the gutter issue as opposed to complain in another letter.

    I shouldve been informed about the car port roof frame issue before spending $10,000 to still have the pooled water area. Contract said issue with the gutters to be cleaned & fixed before filter was put on. Unfortunately, 2 of them leak.
