EverDry Waterproofing of Columbus quoted me $20,000 to waterproof my basement. I gave them a $100 check deposit & signed a contract . They cashed the $100 check. I then waited to find out if they approved my financing. They only approved me for $12,000 in financing. I told them I could not come up with the $8,000. I said I wanted to cancel my contract & asked for the $100 back. They said it would take a few weeks . That was OK., but it has been since 10-24-23 & I still have not received the $100 back. I have called twice . Once on 12-20-23 left a VM & did not get a call back. I also called again this morning & had to leave another VM. A man who came out to have me sign was cancelling my contract. He tried to talk me into having work done for $12,000. All of a sudden he said they could do the complete work now for $12,000. This does not sound right. If they could do it now for $12,000 why not that when they first came out?

I am lodging this complaint regarding the unethical business practices exhibited by Everdry Waterproofing. On October 20, 2023, I contacted Everdry Waterproofing for what I believed would be a simple estimate. The company had persistently reached out to me, offering a free estimate, and due to a specific situation concerning my future plans, I decided to have them assess my basement. To clarify, my intention was solely to acquire an estimate in order to gain an understanding of the issue at hand. I wanted to identify the necessary steps to ensure a dry basement, as well as create a healthy environment suitable for a potential rental family. An inspector named Clayton D***** was assigned to inspect my property. During the initial assessment, Mr. D**** gathered some basic information and proceeded to ask me a series of questions. In response, I mentioned my plans of relocating to Europe. I believed that sharing this information would aid him in accurately assessing the situation and recommending the appropriate remedies. However, to my dismay, I soon discovered that Everdry Waterproofing had manipulated my situation for their own gain. Instead of providing an honest estimate, they took advantage of my vulnerability and attempted to exploit my plans of moving overseas. Their actions displayed a clear disregard for ethical business practices. I am deeply disappointed by this incident and expect Everdry Waterproofing to rectify the situation promptly. It is imperative that they provide me with an honest estimate, taking into consideration the true needs of my basement and ensuring the safety and well-being of any future occupants. I strongly urge Everdry Waterproofing to reevaluate their business practices and uphold the values of integrity and transparency. Please see attached documents

In process of repairing crawl space leak a new fitting was installed on the sump. In the process a line was disconnected causing water to spray into basement. 2 weeks of phone calls and messages and they will not return calls

      Business response

Our company has previously provided waterproofing services at the listed address but have no knowledge as to who the listed complainant is.  He is not our customer nor is he the owner of the subject property.  Our Production Manager spoke with our actual customer and owner of the property, who advised the complainant is her friend.  Our office has no record of receiving any phone call from our customer in relation to the reported issues but learned that she was attempting to contact a former employee directly, hence the lack of a return telephone call from our office.  Based upon this most recent telephone conversation, a follow-up inspection and corrective repairs (if necessary) will occur within the next week.  Our customer is agreeable to that proposed plan of action.

Everdry started this project on May 30th. It is August 21st. and it's still not completed. I have sent them pictures, and the Manager came out and PROMISED me the work would be done in two weeks. IT WAS NOT, IS NOT! Now one of the sump pumps piping came apart and the water was just cycling in the sump. I had to turn it off. The water was very Hot from cycling. I sent them pictures and said to call me ASAP, I still have not heard from Everdry. This was supposed to be a week, week and a half project. I don't understand why this has not been completed... then I realized why.. "I had paid them in full." If I had not paid them in full, they would have had to complete the job, before they got paid. There are still issues that need completed. I am very frustrated with the lack of respect for my Wife and I. And the complete disregard for a paying customer. This was an easy job, the concrete had been removed before and someone attempted to do what everdry does. The crew did not dig down far enough on the outside of the house, and they had to come out and do it again, and they did not finish the job. I want to be compensated for the time wasted by my Wife and I for having to be there over and over again. I want Half of my money back, and I want a NEW sump pump, and battery system, and the visqueen and Tar to complete the walls myself. So I know it is done and not half way completed by employee's who are upset because they have to complete something their fellow workers did not. There is Tar on my siding, and they went one block to high with the tar on an 8 foot section of the wall. Right where everyone can see it. This is very frustrating. This work may be physically hard, but the lack of a checklist for the employees to follow is beyond belief, I explained this to the Manager that came out, and he agreed with my thoughts. Why can't I get any respect from this company ??

EverDry Waterproofing performed some of the necessary repairs for Mr. ******* on September 14, 2023.  Additional work is currently scheduled for October 24, 2023.  However, our office has attempted to contact Mr. ******* about pulling the repair date up sooner but have been unable to reach him as of the posting of this response.  We will continue to make every effort to contact Mr. ******* and perform the additional work as soon as possible.  It is unfortunate that Mr. ******* is unhappy with the work that has been performed to date and our company has work scheduled that will correct all of the issues reported by the homeowner.

IT IS ON. DO THEY REALLY THINK A JUDGE WON'T BE ON MY SIDE. I HAVE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING, AND I WILL ASK THE JUDGE TO SEND SOMEONE OUT TO MY HOUSE AND LOOK FOR THEMSELVES. I WILL ALSO TAKE OUT EVERY DOOR DIRECT WITH THE USPS. I WILL COVER  EVERY NEIGHBORHOOD. LETS SEE IF THIS CAN BECOME A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.  IT IS ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN !!

On April 30, 2022 we got quoted $17,628 to do work on our basement. The quote included doing a sub pump, putting special coating on the outside wall of the basement, and a special wrap on the inside. Because of our basement design, they could not do what was quoted for the outside, or the inside only the sub pump. While they were doing the installation to gentleman from the organization, got into a verbal argument to where my neighbor almost called the police on them. They were late several times, and did not respond when called upon. When the service was done, they still charge me the same price, even though I did not get the service that was agreed-upon at the beginning. They would not change the price, and told me the only discount they would give me was there a $75 a year service plan since the completion of my basement, they have been out several times because there is still water leaking in my basement. The work is not complete and they will not come back out to fix it. I’m looking for some sort of a refund on what I paid, or for them to come out and right the situation.

The job is incomplete. Everdry did show up yesterday. They sent a two-man crew and they worked for three hours today. They sent one man today and he worked all day but because of lack of manpower he did not finish the job. The job is suited for a four-man crew and as of today the job is still incomplete. I spent $22,000 on a water drainage system but my basement still floods! The cost was originally $18,800 but I paid $3,000 in person but they still collected the full $18,800 from the lender which they should not have done. They also did over $30,000 worth of damage to my home and refuse to fix it since they were already paid. My entire basement is destroyed and so is my yard and concrete walkways. They were supposed to complete the job in 3 days but it’s been 3 months now and they never completed. They unnecessarily removed all the drywall from my basement even though they were only digging in the floor. They also Destroyed the drywall so I couldn’t re use it. They’ve destroyed many of my outside block walls, did damage to my AC unit, one of my smart locks is broken, broke my electrical grounding rod, broke my stone steps outside, broke off my wood stairs that lead to the basement. The list goes on

Mr. ****** has refused to respond to our company’s attempts to communicate with him and schedule any remaining repairs.  Further, our company denies most of the allegations of damage claimed by Mr. ******.  EverDry Waterproofing cannot verify any claims by Mr. ****** that three (3) separate contractors have been retained to perform any additional work in his basement.  Our company cannot respond to Mr. ******’ complaint regarding ******** failing to respond to his inquiries.   ******** has contacted our office in relation to Mr. ******’ complaints and we provided responses to them each time.  Finally, we would like to advise you that Mr. ****** has published multiple negative reviews of our company using false names.  The reason we know this is that on the initial review, he used his personal email address (which we have on file).  He then filed 2 more negative reviews using false names almost immediately after posting the initial review, apparently realizing what he had done on the original complaint, using different names and a very random email address  Our company is willing to perform any previously agreed upon repairs but since Mr. ****** has chosen to refuse to respond to our company, it is impossible for us to do so.

I contracted with Everdry to waterproof our basement. Work began on or about October 9, 2022. Work on the first day went fine. On day 2, the lead worker came and told me that they had accidentally cut the line to the AC unit outside. He said that the company would pay for the repair. In reality, it was a 30 year old system that could not be repaired, but it was still working well. Fast forward six months, numerous phone calls, and numerous e-mails later.. Everdry has yet to reimburse me for the fictional repair (given the age of the system it became apparent that I would have to purchase a new unit). Moreover, they have failed to follow up with some issues that we brought to their attention regarding incomplete work (see attached photo).. The work they actually completed was, for the most part, satisfactory. However, they have not fulfilled all of their obligations under the contract and they have failed to follow through with their obligation to reimburse me for the AC unit. Copies of the various e-mails and the AC receipt are available on request

While my wife and I are willing to meet with Everdry, their proposal is nothing more than the same responses we have received for the last (now) seven months, with Everdry failing to fulfill any of their assurances. Given the history of this controversy, I cannot assume that they are acting in good faith.

We will meet with Everdry regarding the reimbursement, although that is pretty much pro forma, once they have assured us that their representative can enter into a binding agreement and only after they have sent a team to fix the exterior defect. There is no reason for either my wife or I to be present for that to occur.

It is our position that there should be no further delay in resolving these issues.

We will also discuss the issue of damp spots on the basement floor (a new concern which has likewise been raised in the past).
