My nightmare begins with Makayla ****** who misrepresented herself as an employee for Express Moving Group -SHE IS A BROKER with "moving advisors "As I was researching for a moving company I felt I did my due diligence and received an immediate response from Makayla. Makayla ASSURED me she was not a broker and I quote: “We are a full service carrier and you would work directly with Express Employees” and she would be assisting me with the logistics of the move. She provided me an estimate based on a 5’x 7’ storage unit which I explained to her was filled to the top . Once I signed the contract I NEVER heard from her again! ). Since this was a long distance move. I began to panic, so I E-mailed her 4 times before I left Colorado, texted her and called multiple times and never heard back from her. By now I am in Colorado and had no other choice but to reach out to customer no service at Express Movers and spoke to the rudest person I ever encountered name “Summer”. When the movers arrived, I was told by the foreman “mike”that I had more items than quoted (not true) and was up charged an additional $2,000. I was stuck and felt I had no choice but to sign the agreement - what else could I do? I asked Mike where he was bringing my items – he said to a warehouse. I asked him to provide me with the location of the warehouse – he said he could not – company policy.. Meanwhile, my son looked up the formation that was located on the side of the truck and found the location of the “warehouse” was at some apartment complex or small home. When my son showed the information to Mike, he called his boss AGAIN!! Minutes later, Mike rips up the contract right in front of us and begins UNLOADING the truck putting everything back in the storage unit! My son calls the police. When Mike realizes we have called the police, the police said that unfortunately there is not much he could do, but take it to small claims court.
