Be aware that doctors at Blanchard Valley Hospital will not consult your primary care physician or your specialist(s) while under the care of a hospitalist. My advice is to seek care from a hospital in Lima, Toledo, or Columbus especially if you have existing medical conditions. The housekeeping in the room was poor during my loved ones stay. The trash cans were overflowing, and the same debris was on the floor every day. The sink was out of order in the room so the doctor or nurse entering the room did not wash their hands with soap and water, only hand sanitizer. (The CDC warns that sanitizers do not get rid of all germs.) A trash bag covered the sink with a sign saying, "call maintenance to fix the drain when patient is discharged." My loved one occupied the room for 12 days. I overheard a housekeeper ask a nurse if a room that was recently vacated needed the disinfection robot. The nurse replied, "no it is not necessary, it is a COVID-to-COVID room." (The CDC warns that if a sick person who tested positive for COVID-19 has been in your facility within the last 24 hours, you should clean AND disinfect the space.)
