CONSUMER BEWARE!! I received a estimate on 7-15-22, two techs arrived at our home. We received three options for a basement leak that was coming from a upstairs toilet. From downstairs we could clearly see water coming from the upstairs commode when flushed. One of the lead techs said it was a flange that needed replaced along with the Stack (there were several other suggestions of things that needed replaced) The first cost estimate ranged from $7,300.00 second estimate $4,560.00 and third estimate tech called a band-Aid option $1,300.00. Lead tech also commented several times "I will get paid regardless of what option you chose" Maybe this was a sales tactic I just found it unprofessional. He also said that due to the mold , (which was a very small area at the bottom of the dry wall were water had settled) they would need seal off the area because he didnt want workers or resident to get sick." Now I understand the concern when it comes to mold and mold spores or if it had covered the entire basement/walls but that was definitely not the case. We called another company for a second opinion, after removing the commode (Buckeye did not do this) it was discovered the Wax Ring and only the Wax Ring needed replaced it had disintegrated and the Flange was intact with nothing wrong with it. Lead Tech had even suggested the floor boards may need replacing for stability because of the water that had leaked. It cost us under $300.00 to get the job done. No more leaks.
