I looked on BBB website for a landscape person. Big Wood Tree Service showed an A+ rating & BBB accredited since 2022, so I called him. I told him I needed weeds pulled; sprayed; flowers treated for insects, spots & dead-headed; & mulch. He cut me off while I was talking & said he'd make it look really nice. Since he had an A+ rating with BBB & in business since 2011, I trusted him. When he showed up for work, he said "Do you have a sprayer, I forgot mine?" He said he could use anything like an empty Windex bottle or something like that. I opened the garage door to look for an empty bottle & while I was looking he picked up my husband's sprayer that he uses on his berry plants - it even said 'fruit sprayer' on the sprayer. He said this is fine but I said that's my husband's & he does not want anyone touching his things. I told him that 3 times but he still took it & used it. (My husband had to buy a new sprayer because **** (Big Wood Tree Service) put weed killer in it.)
**** & his wife worked about 2 hours, they did not pull all the weeds. He sprayed & put mulch over them. He did not do anything to the flowers. They only worked 2 hours for $700! A few days after he was here, I noticed my flowers, tomato plants & grass were dying. I called him & also sent him pictures of our dying landscape. He said he would call me the next day and he has not. I have spent hours working on what I paid him $700 to do - plus now our grass, flowers & tomato plants are dying. I want my money back & he does not deserve an A+ rating.

I’m sorry that you wasn’t happy about my job I completed for you I stated before I did the work that the spray that I used would kill the grass that you wanted to be sprayed on your mulch beds that it would kill everything around the beds but the flowers and you still insisted that you wanted me to spray the mulch beds and the tomatoe plant you sent pictures of was already dying before I sprayed everything!! It was your call to spray killer on the mulch beds that!! I did exactly what you asked me to do I’m really confused and bewildered about your message!! You wanted the  weed killer sprayed and it did exactly what you wanted it to do ????? Sincerely big wood tree service

I am rejecting this response because:  He was to pull the weeds, then put some weed killer down & then put mulch down INSTEAD he put weed killer on lots of the weeds & put mulch on top of it. I sent numerous pictures of the weeds coming up through the mulch about a week later & dying flowers. He was supposed to put fertilizer on my rose bushes & spray them with something SAFE to keep bugs off - he did nothing to my rose bushes - I called him the next day & asked & he said 'NO, he did nothing to my rose bushes".  A lot of our grass outside the flower bed was killed by his weed killer; outside the front door there is a spot about 4' in diameter & many of the other spots are about 16" - 18" dead.  He killed about 5 flower plants.  He did ruin my tomato plants!  He never called me back to offer to come & take a look at the problem. He wanted $700 cash & did not even give me receipt.  My husband, grandson & I spent numerous hours trying to fix the mess he made of our flower garden - putting fresh dirt around flowers; pulling weeds, fertilizing roses - doing everything we paid him to do. He did not tell me his weed killer was going to kill everything - he said he had done this kind of work for years & knew what he was doing.

    Sincerely,

Mam I did exactly what you asked me to do I pulled weeds sprayed and laid mulch in your mulch bed like you wanted! You wanted to do that and insisted on it so why should I be liable for stuff dying in your mulch bed when you wanted weed killer spray sprayed in you mulch bed if you want to get more flowers I’ll gladly come over and plant them free of charge!! And as far as the invoice goes you said you didn’t need one it’s not like I denied you of the invoice !! I completed the work duties and you were happy!

I am rejecting this response because: You did not do what I asked. I paid you $700 & you were not even here 2 hours! I told you to fertilize & bug spray the roses - you did not do anything to roses. I asked you to please not use my husband's sprayer - you used it anyway.  Your wife pulled weeds in the back but you were putting mulch down in front before any weed pulling - I said to you the weeds need pulling first & you said "I know what I am doing - I put mulch down to let it dry out, then I pull the weeds". When I asked you about the weed killer, you said "I have been doing this for many years - I know what I am doing". I want my money back - I will have to pay someone else to do what I paid you to do. We have spent many hours trying to fix the mess you made.  I will have to buy new flowers in the spring.  My husband will have to plant grass in the areas that you killed. That blank receipt does me no good now - you did not offer a receipt when you were here. I want my money back - I think you purposely cheated me!

    Sincerely,
