I must have a delivery person that makes his own hours because I can’t count on one hand how many times I’ve missed getting a Dayton Daily News Paper!. This is ridiculous!

Our family has taken the DDN for the past 69+years.
We all know that the DDN is not the same paper it was back then but I have continued to subscribe on behalf of my remaining fixed income elderly parent who we address the finances for.

We received our invoice in November which we failed to pay in a timely manner and this is completely our fault. Our subscription was stopped we were told on 12/20/24. As we had been out of town since the 18th to celebrate that Parents 90th birthday and the 70th of their living in the Miami Valley. Upon our return today I called to not only pay for our past due invoice but to reinstate the DDN paper delivery. The phone representative stated that because we had missed the 14 day reinstatement grace period that our rate would increase from around $21.00 a month to over $50.00 months for a paper delivered 24 times each 28 days. My parent has never viewed the "Saturday Online Version" due to it being on line and it is not as convenient for them to read.
I pressed the phone agent about the price to no avail. Frankly they did not care to retain us as a subscriber. How much longer will they have a job and how much longer will there be a DDN with this policy and philosophy as to customer retention on a product that we as a family want and hope to keep alive, in spite of our admitted over site, yet the DDN management clearly states to its subscribers that they must not want to.
With a rate of $50.00 a month that is more than a basic cable video subscription, cell phone access and or a broadband Internet connection that has 24/7 usage availability.

I paid for a Sunday only 6 month (26 weeks) subscription. The date of the subscription started 3/17/2024. To date I've received one to three months of sporadic deliveries. Completely zero deliveries in the last two months. I've called three times in the last 2 months and spoken with a customer service representative. I asked for a refund but they say that is not possible. They are always polite and promise to extend my subscription by two weeks and to resume delivery. I have yet to receive one paper.

Ordered a yearly subscription for the paper. With about four months to go stopped getting the paper. I had called to report non-delivery before, but this time decided I didn't want to do anymore business with Dayton Dailey News ever again. Unfortunately, about a month after my subscription ran out, I received a bill for papers I never received on a new subscription. I ignored it for a couple of months but decided to pay it just so they would not ruin my credit. Very unethical company.

The previous balance owed was for papers delivered from your expire date of 2/11/24 until they system closed your account on 3/29/24. Unfortunately we never received a formal request to cancel the subscription from you. The grace period is explained in the renewal letters sent. We apologize for any inconvenience incurred.

If I could give zero stars I would in a heartbeat.
I was at Walmart With my family and Dayton Daily News with giving away some coupon book and My mother wanted it. So the deal was You pay like for 3 months for a newspaper I didn’t want to begin with but was told I can cancel after those 3 months and not be charged they made it seem like a pay for all upfront deal now to get the coupon book and then they start charging you monthly after 3 months unless you cancel/renew for the paper which I never received a single one in those 3 months.
I made the mistake of signing up and giving these people my phone number and last November I got a call and was told I had to pay money for a paper I never received and I expressed I didn’t want to renew and I told them If I pay the “bill” I dont want your newspaper and I want you guys to stop calling me, I stupidly paid for a paper I never received or wanted And I was led to believe when I got that coupon book that I pay for the three months now I get the book and can cancel/renew and not pay anymore money, while at the same time they would deliver a paper those 3 months and I didn’t receive a single paper, These people are liars and will call you every single day from 4 different phone numbers. Every since I made sure I was square with them in November then I have been getting incessant phone calls on a daily basis. Most the phone numbers you call them from just go straight to number not available unable to complete your call, Its pretty irritating to get one to two phone calls everyday from these people.
The basic rundown Is I bought a 3 month subscription to get a coupon book Which I regret doing now after what I have previously stated, and was told I can renew or cancel after and After speaking with a guy in November about not wanting a paper after that 3 month period and making sure I was Square with them, I get incessant phone calls every day from People working for the dayton daily news

I never signed up for a subscription for the Dayton Daily News and they started charging me month after month for over a year.
A man came to my door from the DDN and said, "hey for $10 you can have 10 free Sunday papers and this coupon book." I thought that was quite the deal, so I gave him a $10 bill and he gave me a coupon book. He said the papers would start coming in a "few weeks." They never started until a few months later. I started getting papers, nearly forgetting about this transaction. However, I remembered and assumed I would get 10 weeks of Sunday papers. However, they never stopped coming. I didn't know what to do so I looked up to see if I had an account, come to find they were charging me $10 a month. LIARS, false advertising, and thieves gives them a solid 1 star.

Dayton Daily News has fraudulently charged for newspaper delivery that was NOT ordered or requested. They have taken advantage of my neighbor for whom English is not their first language. When contacted by me for my neighbor, was given the run around about refund. Claimed to have started the refund on 10 July. It is now 75 days later and still no refund. When they were contacted by the BBB, the company said, in writing, that the refund would be issued. This never happened. Called them again, said again they would refund the money, and still nothing. Have escalated issue to the state Attorney General's office.
