On February 13, 2024, ******* ******* purchased a **** ********* ****, AS-IS without a warranty. Before finalizing the purchase, Ms. ******* and her mechanic acquaintance, Warren, test-drove the vehicle and deemed it satisfactory. Just before her initial payment was due, Ms. ******* contacted us regarding a mechanical issue with her car, seeking assistance. Given the AS-IS nature of the sale, we couldn't provide warranty coverage for repairs. However, as a gesture of goodwill, we agreed to postpone her first payment.

Ms. ******* mentioned needing a water pump, which we clarified was relatively new. We offered to replace it under the manufacturer's parts warranty at no cost if she brought it in.

Despite our efforts, Ms. ******* remains dissatisfied with the goodwill gesture. Regrettably, we're unable to offer further assistance.

I purchased a vehicle from Cars East and from very start I’ve had problems with these ppl. My car was repossessed last night after my payment was made. These ppl are scammers. The owner *** is just mad about me calling him a loser for stealing money from hard working ppl.

Ms. ****'s outstanding balance exceeded $1000.00 and was overdue by 32 days. Despite our prepared payment arrangement, she refused to consider it, opting instead to use offensive language and abruptly end the call. Consequently, we had to proceed with repossession of the account. We sincerely apologize for any confusion, but we always aim to provide clear guidelines for the approval of payment arrangements. Ms. **** expressed her desire to make payments according to her own discretion, both in terms of amount and date. Regrettably, our loan agreement does not allow such flexibility.

If Ms. **** has any questions she may call us and make arraignments to cure her default.

      Kind regards,

      Cars East Staff

      Dear Ms. ****:

We understand your frustration and concerns regarding the situation. It's important to approach such matters with a level of professionalism and respect for all parties involved.

While it's understandable that you may be upset due to the negative experiences you may have had, it is not appropriate to resort to personal attacks or offensive language. Maintaining a respectful and constructive dialogue will help in resolving the issue at hand.

In regards to the repossession of your vehicle, we have escalated your case to our legal team. You can expect to receive notification from the courts in the near future. It is st***gly recommended that you engage the services of an attorney to represent you in this matter. Your attorney can directly communicate with our legal team to request documentation or seek clarification regarding the repossession. By requesting evidence of any payment delinquency or prior notifications, you can potentially clarify any misunderstandings or resolve any discrepancies.

There is still an opportunity for you to rectify the default situation and regain possession of your vehicle. This can be accomplished by paying off your entire loan balance in full within the 20-day cure period.

We encourage you to find a resolution through clear communication and a respectful approach. If you require any further assistance or guidance in this matter, please retain legal council.

Thank you for contacting us with your concerns regarding your recent purchase of the 2010 Dodge Journey. We understand that you are requesting a refund due to the fact that the vehicle was sold to you on an as-is basis, and you are dissatisfied with the condition of the car.
We would like to start by apologizing for any inconvenience you may have experienced with the vehicle. However, as you know, we sold the car on an as-is basis, meaning the vehicle was sold without any warranty or guarantee. When purchasing a car on an as-is basis, the responsibility of inspecting the vehicle falls on the buyer. As such, we cannot accept your request for a full refund.
We would like to remind you that you had the opportunity to drive and inspect the vehicle before purchasing it. It was your responsibility to thoroughly examine the car to determine if it was in an acceptable condition. Furthermore, you signed a document acknowledging that you were aware that the vehicle was being sold on an as-is basis and that you were fully responsible for any repairs or maintenance required.
We understand that you may be disappointed with the vehicle’s condition, but unfortunately, we cannot provide a full refund. We hope that you understand our position in this matter.
In response to last week’s BBB complaint submitted by your mother, we offered you a partial refund, a change to a different vehicle, or some assistance with necessary repairs to your Dodge Journey. If you would like to revisit those offers, we would happily extend them again.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We value your business and will do our best to address any issues you may have.

The customer Purchased a 2010 Dodge Journey AS-IS without a warranty. The customer test-drove two other vehicles before she took the Dodge Journey on two separate test drives and decided that was the vehicle she would purchase. Two days after her purchase, the customer complained that she took it to Midas, and they recommended that she replace the entire suspension system. When we tried to discuss the issue with her, she became angry. The options offered were to switch her to a different vehicle and help her with the repairs she wanted, we offered her a partial refund, but she declined them all.
I explained to her that this is a 13-year-old vehicle, and although the suspension is not brand new, it does not need a complete replacement. The customer would not have it.
At this point, we have no choice but to refer to the purchase contract. The vehicle was purchased AS-IS, so the customer is responsible for any repairs.

September 2, 2022 I test drove a vehicle at Cars East/valueland auto sales Inc had a medical emergency they gave me water for my medication I Ask about warranties they said they don’t but It’s a lie they offered them through PWC there’s several things w***g with the vehicle he told me they would fix all of the issues but kept stating I can get you into this vehicle but your tax and title is going to be $1100 do you have that to pay now I said no he had me to fill out an application I could not concentrate and he had a contract written up and he told me all I needed to do is to call my insurance company and have them put the vehicle on there And you’re done he said yes your contract that you just have to sign I’m on the phone with the insurance company and he’s telling me sign here sign there and how do you want to pay your down payment are you paying I told him no I have a debit card so he ran my card for $2500 I kept asking how is this going to go and he kept saying the first six weeks will be 260 oh my daughter told me she could help with that part so I’m thinking after that the payments will be 260 a month The next day I got to look at this contract that he had me sign No income verified I never would have agreed. To my surprise I was paying $21,000 for a 2013 pathfinder hit on the right side that had bad brakes and rotors there’s a spotter because of a exhaust leak I open the hatch and it was coming down on top of me You cannot open the back doors unless you open the windows and reach out and a day later there are three different lights on my dashboard it needs a Cadillac converter an oxygen sensor a temp error light A week later I get him to fix the brakes after he gave me the w***g brakes and rotors before that I sent him a Notarized letter stating I rescind my signature on 6 September I was told that just means you changed your mind they did not do 130 point inspection on this vehicle I receive SSI of $841 The payments are 520 a month before insurance

On 9/2/2022, Ms. ***** purchased a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder AS-IS for $15,995 + Tax & Title. The vehicle had some minor cosmetic damage and a vibration in the f***t brakes. We offered to replace the f***t brakes as part of the purchase agreement, but Ms. ***** did not want to wait for us to schedule the brake repair prior to the purchase. We agreed to a WE-OWE on the f***t brakes and rotors and we fulfilled that WE-OWE shortly after her purchase. Ms. ***** was well aware of the cosmetic damage on the vehicle before making the purchase.

Ms. ***** did not have the money pay the $1200 in tax & title upf***t so we agreed to defer that amount into the loan with bi-weekly payments. Ms. ***** confirmed the bi-weekly payments prior to purchase as outlined in the purchase agreement. Ms. *****'s current payoff balance is $14,937.90.

Ms. ***** made her purchase AS-IS, test drove the vehicle before purchase, and CARS EAST lived up to our WE-OWE commitment. I invite Ms. ***** to reach out to me directly to see if we are able to reach an amicable resolution to her complaint.

      Sincerely,
