My daughter signed her Belmont House lease in Dec 2020 and moved in March 22, 2021. It is a very small unit and it took her a couple weeks to find the perfect spot for her belongings, but she was thrilled with her solo space and even enjoyed the soothing sounds of busy ******** Ave from her 4th floor windows. Just 4 weeks into her bliss she received a notice from Management that she would have to relocate into another unit for a month. Everything has to be removed from her unit. She was expected to pack everything, Preferred Living would provide the movers. Management would not give explanations to why this wasn't communicated before her move in, or what the situation was. I feel the lack of communication and the extra time she had to commit to the task of relocating is inexcusable. The small compensation is pitiful for the amount of time and stress this disruption has caused. Now they want her to take a day off work for the return move, along with having to unpack for the 3rd time in less than 4 months. Also management entered her "temporary"apartment without prior notification during this event. It is unfortunate that Preferred Living Management doesn't value their residents more.

Preferred Living greatly values every tenant, and we do our best to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. In this instance, we discovered that there was roof work that needed to be completed, and the only way for it to be done was by entering through the Suites on the 4th floor. While this is absolutely not an ideal situation, we did notify all 4th floor tenants that we would need to temporarily relocate them for 3 weeks. ********************* was one of our first temporary moves, so it was a learning experience for the staff involved, and the couple of miscommunications were quickly addressed. Regarding the staff entering without notice, there was indeed a 24 hour notice posted that we would be briefly entering to retrieve the hotspot that ********************* was loaned, and we never asked for her to take a day off of work for the move back, as our staff would be happy to oversee this. We have tried to make this process as painless as possible, and this tenant was given one months rent free and a $500 gift card for the inconvenience of being displaced for three weeks.
