1 starAfter my commercial policy expired and I moved to another company for coverage, I received a letter to audit my policy (months after finished), so I started in the process of sending required documents, just to find out most of requirements where design for bigger companies or other kind of business, since my company is a simple box truck, an occasional helper and myself, where I pay expenses and salary to helper, report taxes and give a 1099 to helper for taxes purposes. After several emails and calls, agent in charge of audit seems to understand the nature of my business and ended with the conclusion that I owe them Thousands of dollars, based on numbers from January to December, even when audit period was for a different period of time, I tried hard to get them review my audit since mistake was so obvious, but they kept asking for documents I don't use or have in power, being small company, so I couldn't provide, I kept explaining the logistic for a small company like mine and sent details, amounts, names and dates so they could review my wrongly handled audit, they denied to do so, and sent or sell my account to a collection agency so now I'm being harassed by a debt collector agent and my perfect credit score is at risk if I don't pay Thousands as they're asking with no tool to defend myself. Thy are not suited to work with small companies, stay away from this company or you will remember it forever, even you had paid your policy, and no claims have been filled.Nationwide

1 starMy ****** GAP insurance underwriters are from this company. I bought a car in March 2025, and it was totaled in June 2025 by a young driver who admitted 100% fault in a statement to insurance and police. The writers of my Gap insurance loan did everything they could to loophole paying the remaining $2000 on my car. I paid this company $900 to protect me and they paid $154 and pocketed everything I PAID, and they failed me while having profits of millions. They won't even lower my monthly payment which is now clearly for a lower loan amount than my original contract states and my contract stretches 63 months. I highly doubt this company would miss $150 a month in a payment, but I've lost my car and I saved for two years as a single mother and I'm left with no job and a car payment preventing me from the possibility of even affording another one.Nationwide

1 starLied to me on my claim to deny it for my Pet Insurance, probably because I switched to a new company soon after making the claim. They claimed my documents were not legible that were uploaded to my claim. The documents were perfectly legible. Nationwide reimbursed $0 of a $322.93 total vet bill. Their claims document reads:``Z180 - We were unable to process your claim because the documents submitted were not legible or were covered up by another document. In accordance with the "Your Duties" section of your policy, please provide us with a legible copy of your claim form and invoice. Attach this document and fax everything to ###-###-#### or mail to P.O. Box ##******************``Apparently, I now have to send them physical mail or a fax (who even has the ability to fax anymore?).My dog was barely 9 months old when I first got him back in 2021, and I had this insurance since then until I finally switched because I have another dog as well. Apparently Nationwide isn't on your side, and doesn't care at all about your pet's health.Nationwide

1 starWe were loyal customers of this pet ********************************************* for 8 years. Unfortunately, due to financial hardship, we had to cancel our policy. Just one month later, our dog began losing mobility and weve been in and out of the vet ever since, trying to manage what has become a serious health issue.I reached out to the company hoping they would consider our long-standing history and help us reinstate coverage, even partially, but was told they could not cover any pre-existing conditions. I understand policies have rules, but its incredibly frustrating to know that after paying into this company for 8 years, they offered no support or flexibility in ********* feels like all those years of premiums meant nothing when we actually needed help. Sadly, I would not recommend this company to anyone. We trusted them, and when our pet needed them most, they offered nothing.Nationwide

5 starsWe had a hail claim August 2023 under our homeowners insurance. We owned our home so the payment came direct to us. They gave us a prompt and surprisingly fair settlement. Fast forward almost two years and we finally got our roof repaired. We wanted to wait and get through at least another hail season before replacing it. Not surprisingly, two years later the cost came in higher than the original estimates. Nationwide reopened our claim for us and reimbursed us the extra cost and the original depreciation deduction. I don't even have Nationwide anymore, but plan on going back at our next renewal.Nationwide

1 starI have been a loyal customer to Nationwide insurance for 28 years for home owners insurance. I have never filed an insurance claim and recently received a letter saying they needed to update their records and they needed to do an inspection. The next thing I heard from them was a cancelation notice saying they would not be renewing my policy. Roughly 6 months ago I updated my phone number with them. However when I called to inquire on the cancelation notice they said it was because they could not access the home for an inspection. When I asked for further details they tried to give me a run around about maybe I live in a gated community or have a fence where they could not get to the house to inspect it. I work from home and have an alarm system so if someone did attempt to pull up I would have greeted them at the driveway and walked them through for an inspection so when I told them I could prove with video footage no one even pulled up to my home they then claimed they could not reach me via phone to set up a time. The phone numbers they claimed to have on file were not my numbers nor had they been my phone number in 28 years of coverage and as I mentioned above I had recently updated my phone number with them. I also pointed out that they have my home address which is where I received both notices and how they have always communicated with me and they could have mailed a letter stating they wanted to set up a time for the inspection and could not reach me. Also I know of 7 other homeowners that had the same or similar experience in the Randolph County area over the past year. I would not recommend this company to anyone as they are not reliable and are willing to just cancel a long-standing client when I have never filed a claim or been late on a single payment. I would leave zero stars if that was an option.Nationwide

1 starIn the last two years our homeowners insurance has almost tripled in price. For absolutely no reason whatsoever on our part. We pay on time each year for the entire year and we have not made any claims. I understand inflation is the reason for consumer price increases but this is getting ridiculous. I will be switching to a different insurance company as soon as possible. We cannot afford these rates anymore. Signed Dissatisfied in *********Nationwide

1 starExtremely Disappointed with Nationwide Homeowners Insurance 0/10 I am deeply dissatisfied with my experience with Nationwide Homeowners Insurance. I filed a claim for storm and wind damage to my home in ********** on May 7, 2025, and as of June 23, 2025, there has been no resolution or clear communication on the next steps.Despite assurances from my assigned adjuster (his name is *****)who claimed the matter would be resolved last weekthere has been no follow-through. Unfortunately, this has not only caused significant delays but has also eroded any trust I had in their process. I have no indication of when, or even if, my claim will be completedwhether it's another month, two, or a year from now remains unclear.Given the lack of responsiveness, transparency, and professionalism I've encountered, I would strongly advise others to reconsider before choosing Nationwide for homeowners insurance.Rating: 0 out of 10.Nationwide

1 star*** had a pet insurance policy with this company since my dog was a puppy in early 2021, always paying the full premium upfront annually. Without warning, her most recent policy lapsednot because of missed payments or negligence on my part, but because I received only one renewal notice by regular mail and nothing via ******** someone who travels frequently, relying solely on physical mail for time-sensitive, critical coverage information in 2025 is completely unacceptable. This lapse in communication is not just outdatedits negligent.I raised the issue with customer service and multiple supervisors, explaining the situation clearly. Despite this, no effort was made to correct or reinstate the policy. Ive since emailed the CEO of Nationwide Pet Insurance three timesand have yet to receive any acknowledgment, let alone a *********** appalled by the lack of accountability and basic customer service from a ********************** that markets itself as protecting our beloved pets. This is not just bad serviceits a failure of duty.Nationwide
