I have a trane hvac unit that was bought and should still be under warranty- nowhere on the unit does it say for the warranty to be valid that it requires a 90 day transfer. It states on the unit which the new buyer is able to see how long everything is warranty and is not clear it should be transferred. We have been hit with a $2600 repair bill for our unit which should be under warranty. The issue occured over 3 weeks ago and we have been without air condition or heat for that long waiting for Trane to reach out to figure out a solution to this issue. We finally got a customer specialist assigned 3 weeks in and she sent me a very basic email back saying they cant help with repair costs. I requested she call me so we can try to sort this out and she has not. I tried calling and they stated she is busy helping others when we have waited 3 weeks without basic heating and air waiting. All of the other brands of **** the warranty for the unit goes with the address and not the last name of the homeowner- they no longer need a warranty on the unit when it is sold obviously. There are no stickers indicating the absurd rule for the warranty to be transferred for the warranty to remain valid. I have 3 children including a newborn and to be without air and heat for 3 weeks waiting for someone to help is unacceptable. The person who escalated said we could purchase portable units and they should reimburse us and they are refusing to cover any of the costs.

    Dear ****** *******,

Thank you for contacting Trane Consumer Relations regarding your concerns.

As a manufacturer of heating and air conditioning equipment, but not the installer or servicer of the products, Trane provides a limited warranty that covers the failed component only. This limited warranty does not include associated costs such as diagnostic, labor, or refrigerant fees. Most of our products come with a base limited warranty of 1, 3, or 5 years with the option to register the products within 60 days of installation to extend these terms to 10 years. Once the registration deadline passes only the base limited warranty will be available. You may have the option to purchase an additional warranty from your local dealer which could provide supplemental coverage for labor and refrigerant or even to extend the time frame your parts are covered.

We have consulted with our ******************************* about your issue and are unable to assist with registering your unit since the warranty transfer period has expired. I recommend following up with your dealer to inquire about any option for an extended warranty.

    Thank you for your contact.

Subject: 3 Defective HVAC Evaporator Coils, requiring a 4th coil.RE: Trane Technologies Phone: ###-###-####. Amount having to be Paid for repairs: $2595.12. I'm writing to you urgently regarding an ongoing issue with my HVAC system, specifically concerning the recurrent failure of the evaporator coil. After multiple occurrences of (3) coil replacements because of leaks, including the latest confirmation by Burgess Heat and Air, a trusted Trane-recommended service provider, it has become evident that the coil is inherently faulty. This upcoming replacement
will mark the fourth instance of coil replacement since the system's installation in 2015. In light of these recurring issues, I reached out to Trane to request coverage for the total service call and installation costs, including necessary refrigerant for the new coil. However, their offer of only $400 falls far short of the actual cost, which amounts to $1,259.17. Additionally, I sent them
invoices from previous coil replacement and service to illustrate the charges I have incurred due to this ongoing issue. Moreover, I included a picture of the current leaking coil, highlighting visible corrosion and rusting screws, which further underscores the faulty nature of the component. Therefore, I sincerely hope for your understanding and consideration in helping me resolve this
matter. I must express my disappointment and concern over their proposed resolution, especially considering my status as a senior citizen. I have been in communication with Mr. ******* *****, Senior Escalations Specialist Consumer Relations. Trane/American Standard Residential. Trane Technologies. Phone: ###-###-####. My Case# ********
