Possible Advance Fee Scam Using America Payday Loan’s Name The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) received a complaint that a company was using the name America Payday Loan to conduct an advance fee scheme.The individuals posing as America Payday Loan offer personal loans to borrowers but require the borrowers to initially make a loyalty payment and are then asked to make a second payment to register the overseas loans with the Federal Bank of the United States. The borrowers are told that the loan funds will be deposited into their bank accounts 45 minutes after the payments are made. No money is ever deposited or refunded. America Payday Loans is not licensed by DFI. This company is using the phone number of (509) 590-2388, and a possible address of 1500 W Ford Ave, Spokane, WA 99201. DFI is unable to verify the address or phone number.The phone number provided by the consumer for America Payday Loan of (509) 590-2388 has been previously linked to another possible advance fee scheme using the name of First Priority Financial for which a Consumer Alert was issued in July 2012.
Verify License Department of Financial Institutions strongly recommends that consumers deal only with those lenders that are properly licensed to conduct business. Consumers can determine whether lenders are properly licensed using the “Verify a License” feature on the DFI’s website at www.dfi.wa.gov/consumers/findcompany.htm.
