I went and dropped off my car to get diagnosed. I gave them my warranty information, and left.
I had to call them by the end of that day to see what was going on, and was told the tech didn't know what was up so they would have to look at it on Monday. Monday comes around, and I call them for an update, and was told a warranty claim was put in. I asked what was wrong with the car, and whom ever the lady i spoke to was very nice, but could not tell me what's wrong with it. just "transmissions issues" or something with gears.
I went to pick up my work ID, and had to drive to a secondary location where they took my car, when i walked into the shop to get my work badge, the guy drove my car thru the shop to me, which was unnecessary. Why are you using my car as a personal uber, when i brought it to be fixed?
2 weeks later, I'm told if i take my car from the shop it will void my warranty: That was not true. warranty says i can take my car to whatever shop, and i can remove it from the shop as well. I dont understand how I "cant drive it" but yall can drive it between shops, and around the lots?
I paid 135$ to pick up my car yesterday, that payment was for a diagnostic, to not even know what wrong with my car, except something with the transmission. I would have liked to have been informed what is going on for that 135$ instead of getting a receipt with no information. That has never happened to me in my life.
I picked it up and drove it home with no problems, Without them doing any work to it at all after i called and asked them not to touch it.
Transparency, and communication is key. yall started a warranty claim without telling me what the issue was didn't ask if you could put the claim in FIRST, lied to me throughout the process, and i still don't know what is exactly wrong with it.
All of this felt SO shady, and i basically paid to store my vehicle while they drove it between their shops.
I would like a refund of the $135 Diagnostic feeBusiness Response

***** Complaint***** brought her car in with an extended warranty. Complaint was that the car was rumbling when she accelerated. She had a drivability problem. There were no codes.Cannot give a print out if there are no codes. In the case when we are dealing with an extended warranty company and the claim is called in, the warranty advises the consumer not to drive the car to prevent further damage. ***** was advised of the warranty policy. She could have chosen to take her car at any given point. The claim was called in by Atlas to the warranty company. The warranty company needed extensive paperwork(service and maintenance records) from Croft. ***** was notified of this and if any other information was needed she will have to contact the warranty company. Time went by and whatever transpired between ***** and the warranty company is between them. She contacted us and stated she was selling her car and her boyfriend would be picking up her vehicle. Her vehicle was moved to another building that is an annex building of the main office where she dropped off her car. Her vehicle was not used as a personal car.Customer Answer

I won’t be sending any of my warranty information to you.
i asked for a refund for a diagnostic that I paid for, when no diagnostic was done.
none of my warranty information matters.no codes; I told them I was having transmission issues, when I dropped the car off. I was told atlas looked at my car on the Monday after it was dropped off, they could not tell me what was wrong with my car when I removed it from their shop. Therefore they did no diagnostic and did not know what was wrong with it, and charged me 135$ for nothing.
im asking for a refund for the 135$ diagnostic fee they charged me.
i don’t need to clarify anything.
no work/diagnostic was done, therefore a refund is what needs to happen.Initial Complaint

I got my vehicle towed to this Atlas Transmission. Went through my warranty company to get get my transmission fixed March 14, 2022 my claim was submitted. April 4th it was accepted and my vehicle supposed to have gotten fixed. Once vehicle was fixed I picked it up and it was not fixed so I brought it back. The whole time dealing with them, they were very unprofessional and act as if I was bothering them because my truck was not fixed right.
fast forward to now, I am having the same issues with my truck and Atlas refuses to help me in any way. I have got spoke to in a very nasty manner, they refuse to look up in their system to find out about my warranty so my transmission can be fixed yet again. Truthfully, I should not have any issues with my transmission if it's been replaced not even 12,000 mile ago. they claim they have to go back through their books to find out when it was done but can't promised they will do it right away. They asked me to provide dates to make it easier to go through their books. I have everything they've asked of me and it's like they are telling me things to get me off the phone. Once I gathered all the information needed, that's when the disrespect started to happen and the hanging up the phone on me. I went online and found they have terrible reviews and there are others that has went or are going through the same thing I am going through. If I would have seen the reviews before hand, my truck would've never been serviced by them. I think it's unfair. I am a full time mother, employee and a nursing student. I need my vehicle fixed the right way. They are not trying to help me in no way. I was given a receipt for the work but it has been misplaced. That was the whole reason of me calling them to go back in their files to find out what exactly did they work on because my truck is having the exact same problem.Business Response

Thank you for sending over the information in regards to the complaint. The customer and the warranty company would have been provided with paperwork that stated the repairs made, customer information , warranty information, and such. The customer can provide the paperwork, which can be obtained from the warranty company, and bring the vehicle in repairs if covered by applicable warranty. The vehicle, the customer, and paperwork have never been brought in for any concerns since the date of supposed repairs.
Thank you for time,

This complaint is against Atlas Automotive located at 4529 W 130th St, Cleveland Oh 44135. On or around Sep 20, 2022 my vehicle (2016 International 4300) was placed in their repair shop for a transmission rebuild. The total cost of the repair was $7200. I asked for an itemized invoice so that I could discern what I was paying for parts, labor etc. I was told that's not how their shop prepares invoices. I thought that was strange and a red flag because no repair shop I've ever dealt with didn't give me an itemized invoice. I picked the truck up on Oct 6, 2022. Less than two weeks later the transmission was leaking from the bell housing while I was in Hampton GA. This resulted in me losing wages and using expenses to return to Cleveland OH to get the leak repaired (I have photos and video of the leak). Instead of dropping the transmission and replacing the seal a caulk was applied which was simply a short term quick fix. In addition to this the transmission fluid which was dirty coming out of the transmission was replaced back into the transmission instead of filling the transmission with new fluid. On Feb 7, 2022 the transmission went out again in Shreveport LA. This shop did a complete rebuild while noting that to them a few parts had been replaced but not a total rebuild. This cost me $9891 for repairs as well as lost wages. I was given a 90 day/3000 mile warranty from Atlas Automotive but was not offered the option to purchase one with a longer length of time or more mileage. I currently have a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty from the latter shop. I would like to be reimbursed for the costs associated with the repairs ($7200) as well as lost wages. I would not recommend this shop for anyone looking to have transmission work done on any vehicle.Business Response

To whom it may concern,
The vehicle is out of warranty by time and mileage.
The warranty is clearly printed on the left side of the invoice and signed by the customer.
Thank you for your time in this matter.******* B*****

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]To stand by a warranty given in bad faith should have no merit. I had to return the truck back to Atlas less than 2 weeks after the original work was performed. What repair shop uses putty to seal a leak from the bell housing instead of dropping the transmission and replacing the seal to fix the leak? Most reputable transmission shops will give you an unlimited mileage warranty with no less than a year when a full rebuild is performed on a transmission. The repair shop that did the follow up repairs didn't detect that a rebuild had been done at all. At the most a few parts replaced. Atlas thought that 3000 miles and 90 days was sufficient. This leads me to believe they did just enough to get the truck to be able to leave their property but knew it would break down again. They were hoping it would be after their warranty expired. This is negligence on their part and consumer fraud. I have included a video as well as a photo of the substance used. Totally unacceptable. Their faulty repair endangered my life and others on the road. A full reimbursement of monies I paid Atlas is what will resolve my complaint.

Maybe 6mo ago I had my car towed there because the transmission went out. I was told it would be 2800 for a new one. During the "repair" the shop claimed to have spotted something near the drivers side wheel that needed replaced. They did the work without my knowledge or authorization, and charged me for it at pickup. I paid over 3k. 3 days later my axle snaps by the same tire they "repaired". It cost another 300. I brought the car back a month later because the transmission was rough shifting. They kept it for a day and said nothing was wrong. A week ago, after having my tires balanced and rotated at ********, a heavy transmission leak was spotted and video recorded by the tech there. I had the car dropped at Atlas. They told me there was no leak, despite another mechanic from a 3rd shop seeing the leak in the video. They continued to try to tell me i had a "heavy oil leak". I went to pick up my car today, and long story short - ended up being pushed by one of the old mechanics multiple times, before I pushed him back. I had to call the police, they showed up and took reports. I went and got video from guys at 2 other shops confirming the leak AGAIN,and found out they botched the transmission, used old parts, parts that are the wrong size, and parts that shouldn't even be on there. Also that there are loose bolts on the transmission as well. Once I left,I had alerts for issues that my car didn't have before on the dash. They refuse to fix the car,and I most likely won't have it done until this lawsuit is underway.
Preferably, they would return the initial 3,000 and I'd take that money to get it fixed correctly elsewhere, but seeing as how they attempted to weaponize the police against me, I don't think I'd even be happy with JUST that.Business Response

In reference to the recent interaction with ***** ****** (customer). The customer brought his vehicle in to Atlas look over a possible transmission leak. A technician at Atlas saw there was a massive motor oil leak from the customers vehicle. The office representative spoke to the customer about the motor oil leak. The customer was asked to look at the motor oil leak and any other possible leak the vehicle might have. The customer was escorted to the building where his vehicle was by the owner. The owner asked the customer to wait outside the build so that we cold open the door where the vehicle was located, as per insurance policy, the customer would not walk through the entire facility. The customer became extremely irate and violent. He refused to wait outside and shoved the owner as his back was turned. The owner was pushed about 10 feet into the shop where the owner fell into the mechanics toolbox, bounced off an automotive lift and finally falling on the concrete floor. The owner suffered injuries to his head, arms and back. At this point we called the police to remove the customer from the property. We tried resolving the matter with the customer at the beginning and the customer was irrational the whole time.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]Almost ALL of the statements made by Atlas are BLATANTLY FALSE. I have video from 2 repair shops(******* **** ****** and ********) as well as one from **** * (where id gotten an oil change a week prior) showing very clearly that there are multiple leaks throughout the transmission, and NO OIL LEAK. As for the mechanic,I allowed him to push me 2 times before pushing him back. I called the police first and that can be verified by CPD. Also,I asked them repeatedly to remove my car from.the lift. Their mechanic continued to unscrew, and disconnect multiple things from under my car. As I'm writing this I'm at the corner of St. Clair and w.9th street, with a car that won't start because of the things they did under it. The proof of which is in the fact that initially, one of the mechanics asked me to move the car into the bay. I started it,and began moving it from the spot it was parked. There were no lights on the dash, and the car started right up. After the mechanic assaulted me and the police were called, the car eventually was taken down and given to me. I had multiple lights on the dash, and the car has had slow starts since. This is after me having the mechanic on video saying "they will have to tow your car out of here". All of the damage, the wrong and/or missing parts on the transmission ,as well as the other damage and me asking them to take the car off the lift is all ON VIDEO. My concern is the speed of the repairs, because once this is in court they can't argue what they did and said on video OR what 3 other shops with certified mechanics and specialists pointed out on video. I now want ALL of the repairs covered, and I want them fixed immediately. If I'm not refunded fully for said repairs before the end of the week,I will be moving forward with the lawsuit seeking cost plus damages, including my time without a vehicle, mental anguish and triggering of my documented ptsd, when the woman involved attempted to weaponize law enforcement against me by claiming me to be "violent and irate" when I very clearly have a video showing otherwise. I am willing to settle the matter with swift repairs to my vehicle, including warranties but I will not continue to drag this out for that bare minimum. I'm also willing to provide all videos previously provided to the BBB,as well as the 5th video showing the actions of the people at the shop.
