I own a 2009 Camry that's in relatively good shape for its age and low mileage. As any older car, it requires regular wear and tear maintenance. I recently took it to Motorcars Toyota in Cleveland Hts. and they replaced the Alternator, valve gasket, spark plugs, and a few other related parts. 3 weeks later the car starts running rough, vibrating and on the loud side. I take it back to them to check that the work they just did to the tune of $1500 was all in check and they tell me a heat shield is loose and needs to be reattached for another $300. I pick up the car and it's louder than it was and the brake light was out. Drove right back and the extremely rude service rep who took over for the girl we initial spoke with, got in my face accusing me of misrepresenting the problem to begin with. We never even talked to this guy about the car and he became defensive immediately. It was a reaction dishonest people have when they are caught. After this altercation, he supposedly had his service people inspect the car (again) to come back with nothing is wrong with it. He said if we weren't happy with the repair they would undo the work they did to reattach the heat shield and refund my money. I don't believe they did any work, if anything they removed a heat shield which would explain why it's louder. I have no way to confirm this so I am at their mercy and out another $300. This place is a rip off, I found them to be dishonest years ago as well but we thought we'd give them a second chance, after being advised to use certified Toyota for repairs. That was a mistake. The service rep also tried to blame the noise on after-market parts on older repairs, yet they used an after-market alternator when they did the recent work. My goal with this post is to warn others about this dealership. They are dishonest, obviously management runs it this way and trains its staff to work in this manner. It's a shame really. Motorcars is untrustworthy to say the very least.

I bought 4 new tires just 2 weeks ago from Motorcars Toyota. I spent $1,700 for service there, although half the amount came from other repairs such as brakes. Two weeks later my tire pressure light went on. So, I took my Toyota Corolla back to the shop so they could fix the problem. Afterall, I had just bought 4 new Cooper tires just 2 weeks earlier. I hoped whatever the problem was could be free or not costing much at all. However, they said that I needed new sensors and the cost was another $300+. I thought that was excessive, given that I had just bought the new tires.

I have been going to Motorcars Toyota for oil changes for close to a decade because I believed I was getting quality work even if it was for a higher charge. Over the past year, my job and clinicals for school have required me to drive longer distances which has caused me to get 5 oil changes in the last year. Over this past year, I have become very disappointed with the people and services provided. Not only have the employees become ruder but the oil changes have started taking much longer than the estimated time given at the start. I last visited Motorcars Toyota on 5/21/21 for my regular oil change. I had scheduled off 1.5 hours for this process before I had to leave for a doctor's appointment. Before getting out of my car, I confirmed that the service would only take an hour and I had agreed to wait. After an hour and 15 minutes of no one coming to get me, I went looking for the service advisor who had greeted me at the start. After another 10 minutes of searching for an update on my car, he was unable to tell me the status of my oil change nor was he able to find the technician working on my car. At this point, it had been over an hour and twenty minutes since I had left my car and I had to be leaving soon in order to make it to my scheduled medical appointment. I had to order a Lyft service to pick me up and take me to the doctors and back. I ended up paying over double what I would normally pay for an oil change since no transportation was offered to me, I was not compensated for the Lyft service, and I still had to pay for the oil change after I got back from my medical appointment. I remember several years ago, after an oil change service ran past the promised time, the manger himself came out and offered a personal apology along with no charge for the service. However this time, no explanation or apology was offered nor could I even find my service advisor after I returned to pick up my car. Before this oil change, my last once was less than 5 months before and the service advisor I was working with was extremely rude to me and gave me attitude about a coupon I brought in and he had agreed to use before the appointment had even started. While I could have forgiven the attitude if it had been the only issue I had ever had but after multiple visits in the past year, this is becoming a trend. I am extremely disappointed with the overall quality of service and staff at Motorcars Toyota nowadays. I am not sure the reason for the 180 degree turn from the previous years of great service but after multiple disappointing visits, I will no longer be returning to Motorcars Toyota.
