My 18 year old daughter was contacted for a modeling job. The company provided the clothing and she would be paid $2,000. $1,000 up front and the balance after completion of the photo shoot. She signed a contract regarding same and chose the photo studio closest to our home. She received a check for $2,550. Upon receipt of that check "John" at the company 408-684-7355 began harassing her 4 to 5 times an hour for $1,500 of that money to be sent to the designer for the clothing to ship. Our bank did not support the money app Zelle so they requested Amex Gift card. 3 were purchased and sent. Within an hour after receiving the gift cards, John said an additional $900 was needed for another outfit. 1 more gift card was purchased and my bank flagged my debit card for fraud, thus freezing any activity. The final $400 gift card was sent, however and i advised John i would not be sending anymore money to anyone until they showed good faith. They mailed a check for $3,550 and then demanded another $2500 be sent to them. At that time we held all information and i demanded a refund of the $2,400 as their whole plan was fraud/scam. My bank bounced both of the checks and we incurred fees. I spent one week making an effort to obtain the return of the $2400 and was told by John and the admin that we would receive a refund. The company is now ghosting me and will not respond. When i told John i spoke with the photographer and they knew nothing about him or more daughter he became very silent. I spoke with the company who issued one of the checks and they confirmed fraud.
