This company is using the court system to illegally garnish money from my work check. On November 29th a Judgement was filed against me for a credit card debt I owed, the total amount owed was 733.39 plus court fees which totaled 962.79. My work check was garnished and the debt was paid off. Now just recently on September 6th I received a letter stating that I had a balance of 19.65. The court filing is dated August 14th and it was mailed out on September 1. This is enables me to file a request for a hearing because you only have 5 days to do this. Furthermore. Why are they garnish me when I have paid them in full. When I call I get no answer, no return call,Business Response

My paycheck was being garnished for a loan I had. I came to an agreement to pay $1,807. My case is closed, and I have overpaid by $1,403.94. The company tells me they sent the money back to my employer, which they did not. My employer doesn't have anything from them. I want to know where my money is.Business Response

I received a letter in the mail notifying me of a wage garnishment. I never received one bill or summons for court from them even though they claim they sent it to me. Which I highly doubt because the court papers have my old address. Even still I paid the full debt of $3,143 in full on 08/11/23. They still took a payment from my check. They didn't even close my account until I called back. When I asked how long will it take for a refund they said anywhere from 7-10 business to a month. I asked them email the release order to send to my job so that they stop taking payments which they state they can't do. I asked them to fax a release order directly to my job and they said it will take 24 hours. It has been over 6 days and my job has not received anything from them this should have only taken 48 hours max. I am now being told it takes 2 weeks to fully close the account and send documents. I'm also now being told they have no clue when my refund will come and I need to call the courts. But they haven't sent the letter of satisfaction to the courts so I can't get any information on my refund. I can't afford to have wages garnished because you all "feel" 25% of my income is disposable. It is not and I need my money. I understand everything has a process but I paid in full and what I am asking for is simple. I just want my release order for my job, letter of satisfaction for the courts, and my refund.Business Response

Velocity Recoveries hired this firm to create a judgement against me which they were successful in since I was unaware what this was actually for. The courts had court receivers take $750 from my account to give to them. This collection account was fraudulently opened in my name and documents were submitted to them which they acknowledged and agreed with....hence why Velocity Recoveries closed the collection account. The problem is that the judgement was closed but they never returned my money. Since that account was fraudulently opened, how are they justifying keeping money that does not belong to them? No one returns calls or emails. Velocity Recoveries tells me to contact Javitch Block to correct but no one will respond. At this point, this is theft because what justification is there to keep my money? Velocity Recoveries seemed to be unaware of money being taken from me per their email so who has my money? I have bank statements showing money taken out as well as documents from the court receivers showing Javitch Block as the receivers of that money.

Complaint against Javitch Block LLC I had a wage garnishment and this was the creditors attorney. I paid back the $11,906.37. They have took over $500 extra and took another $221 yesterday. I called my county circuit clerk's office and they gave me the number to call them and talk to Megan l*****. *************. Called it and it's no longer a working number. They are shut down. So how are they still taking my money and how do I get it back.Business Response

Better Business Bureau,
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Javitch
Block treats consumer concerns with the utmost care.
As background, we represent ********* ********** *** in a matter against *******
***** situated in Ohio County Circuit Court.
There may be a lag between the amounts being garnished and the amounts received
by our firm. As of today, the last
payment we received was for $139.74 on May 8, 2023. Per the information in your complaint, it
sounds like further funds have been garnished.
Unfortunately, those have not made it to us yet. This could be that the
employer is not timely forwarding payments or various other reasons. Hence, the
balance is currently $267.39. The
garnishment will end when the balance on this account is paid in full. Rest
assured that any excess funds received by our firm will be sent back to *******
*****.
I trust that this information is useful for your purposes and fully addresses the

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The reason I said no was because on the check stubs I provided shows I done paid $12,412.28. I only owed $11,906.37 and they still say I owe $267.39. I would just like to get this matter resolved. I do good to make ends meet as is. If you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate any help. Thank youRegards,
