    This company says that they will handle all your payroll needs but is not clear to you at what cost. Our first red flag was that GMS was listed on our employees paystub with our company name under theirs. When we asked them about it, they down played it. Then after our first complete year with them we got our W2s back and saw that ONLY their company and their companies address is listed on all our employees W2s! Then it just so happened that when I logged into their portal they had us use and went to get the phone number to speak to them directly, there suddenly was no longer a phone number available to speak to someone directly. They now only have emails and say they will handle everything through emails. I had to go online to find a phone number to which it was answered by a call service instead of an actual GMS representative. Plus none of the call services reps could speak or understand the English language well at all. It took me several email attempts that were answered genericly like automated responses to GMS and several calls through the call service with me having to just repetitively demand to speak to a supervisor then demand to speak to an actual GMS rep to get to finally speak to one. When I addressed the fact that their business is on OUR employees W2s they didnt have much to say other then that we were COemployers...thats crap cause there's only their company listed on them. Plus we never understand that any of this was gonna happen, it was NOT explained clearly! Our company hired all of our employees, our company pays all of our payroll taxes on our employees plus we pay a weekly fee to GMS to handle the payroll and then GMS shows them as their employees at the end of the year, thats bullshit! This company was NOT clear about how they were going to operate and now are trying not to ever have to deal directly with us. This is very poor business practices especially when we are a small business and WE ARE BBB accredited. GMS is NOT. Not surprising.

    GMS has been operating as a PEO for 28 years. We are an IRS Certified and a long-standing PEO. PEOs serve well over 200,000 businesses in the United States with over 4.5 million worksite employees reporting under the PEO. Our client's employee's wages and taxes are reported under the GMS state and federal ID which is why a client's W2s state GMS as the employer. We handle the tax liability and are responsible for ensuring taxes are collected and paid to the correct tax agencies. We take on that process for our clients. This provides our clients with reduced workers' compensation and health insurance premiums. We are not a staffing agency. One of our Client Services Managers reached out to this client on April 5, 2024 and did not receive a return call. The nature of the relationship was explained to this client at the inception of the relationship. GMS does utilize a call center to provide a high level of service and quicker response time to our clients and employees. All are trained on GMS processes and are fluent in multiple languages.
