My 1st impression of ****** ******* of Wilpower H&C was that he was unprofessionally dressed and smelled a bit of weed. But with 90+ degree weather coming and a broken unit, he was the only person available on short notice (of 3 quotes I got).
On the day of the install his assistant (1st on site) arrived 40 minutes late. The finished job looked unprofessional with hand-torn and missing sections of insulation on the line into the furnace & unit. He said he would return at a later date to make things more presentable since he was running later for another job. He missed 2 follow-up appointments to do so. It took 6 wks to come back and insulate the pipes and seal gaps. His own words, my quote, and my receipt said I was getting a 2-ton unit, when I registered the unit for the warranty, I discovered it was a 1.5 ton (w/ a manufacture date of 2023). He gaslighted me about how this occurred and apparently thinks telling me "I got you a *****" was supposed to communicate to me that it was a 1.5 instead of 2. He was argumentative when I brought up my concerns and invited me to get a 2nd opinion on his work and that he would even pay for the service call. I did this (he didn't pay).* ******, the owner of a local HVAC company with 20+ years of experience personally came to inspect ******'s work* ****** said the setup for the low voltage wire into the unit wasn't up to code and wire damage could eventually occur via a pinch point. I told ****** about this and sent him the report, and he basically sai* ****** doesn't know what he's talking about; it "isn't a big deal" and "I'm not an electrician, I'm an hvac person" (actual quotes). At that point I was done and told him I no longer wanted his services. I just got a 3RD opinion, and this tech confirmed the low V wire issue & also noticed a bigger wiring issue beyond the panel to the AC unit; unhoused wires sitting against a sharp piece of metal.
Overall, a very negative experience that is costing us more money.
