Within the last four months or so I had bought a bottle of gorilla glue super glue that’s a brush and a nozzle I make hair bows so I was strictly at one point using gorilla glue and then I ended up switching to a different glue this morning, March 26, 2024 I was doing a project and I realized that I had a brand new unopened bottle of gorilla glue in the cupboard with all my crafting supplies so I got it out the bottle would not open so we had to use pliers Then I took the cap off and realize there’s no brush attached to the glue and then I realize that the glue was hard as a rock. I then contacted gorilla glue and asked to be reimbursed or have this item replaced because it was sealed there was absolutely no reason that it was dried up. They sent me a bunch of emails back-and-forth and then I sent them the lot code and they said well the glue was made in 2021. I was not even making bows in 2021 so I would’ve never purchased it then but I tried explaining to the company that , I bought it out of either superstore or ******* and it’s not my fault that it was dried up. It should’ve been on the shelf. I obviously can’t return it because I’ve had it for quite some time nor do I have the receipt but the company basically said screw you we don’t care I think it’s terrible customer service, since I actually had replaced this bottle this morning at superstore Before getting their initial email. Otherwise I would’ve never ever purchased another one of their products and considering I’ve bought numerous bottles of gorilla glue, you think a huge company like this in order to keep a customer would say hey will send you a new bottle of glue since it wasn’t my fault in their emails. Keep saying oh how was it stored after being used and wipe it off, etc. I’m not sure how many times I have to say this was never used. It was sealed in a package this morning when I opened it to find it Missing the brush which is not in the glue and hard as a rock. This is very disappointing for this company.

I purchased the gorilla glue fabric glue on March 19, 2024. It was used on different fabrics with various trim/pieces. The glue did not hold up to my expectations. The material did not stick to the fabric. The description says it bonds with cotton, denim, polyester, felt, beads, sequins and ribbon. I tried this glue with felt fabric, beads, and ribbon materials. In all cases the glue did not hold the material to the fabric.

On Decemeber 10, 2023, I used gorilla super glue. After replacing the top, I went to get a plastic bag so I could store the glue. It leaked onto my table cloth, and onto my new table. The repair for the tablecloth cost me 16.00. It also leaked on the table. That repair will cost me between 280 and 500 dollars. I sent an estimate to gorilla glue along with the glue in a plastic bag at their request. I filled out a questionnaire as well, which I copied. On 1/24/2024 they denied my claim saying that the top was put on the glue incorrectly. They have the physical evidence and can say what they want to avoid responsibility. The glue was a problem right away. The manufactured product had a defect. Instead of pushing the responsibility on me after a prolonged wait, they should take responsibility for the damage, and pay for the repair.

The Gorilla Glue Company did receive a report on December 10, 2023, of a Super Glue that had leaked out of its tube and letting us know the product  caused damage to a table cloth and table.

The product return was requested and received by Gorilla Glue on January 3, 2024.  It was hand delivered to our Quality Team who promptly evaluated it in conjunction with the Gorilla Glue Package Development Team.  Their findings showed the nozzle and cap piece were placed onto the tube at an angle that could have allowed a leak. The nozzle and cap pieces come unassembled and are applied by a consumer before use.

The directions on the package of Super Glue include:
      Protect work area from spills.
Clean and dry surfaces to be bonded.
To puncture, place cap and nozzle on the tube and tighten down.

A claim was submitted to Gorilla Glue’s insurance company, and based on the nozzle and cap being placed on an angle, and the work area was not adequately protected, there is no liability on the part of The Gorilla Glue Company.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint I* ********* and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below. Gorilla Glue had me send the glue to them. I took photos of the glue before I sent it. The photos clearly show the cap is on correctly. I also have documentation that showing that I said the white cap was not removed. This has been going on since the incident occurred in early December. I have cooperated with every request made by Gorilla Glue. I have used this product for many years and NEVER had a problem before.

Product wouldn't hold, contacted Gorilla glue and explained my situation. Glue wouldn't hold 2 pieces of aluminum together, just fell apart after 12 hours. Also, the mixing container glue was not even hard. The agent started building walls and using every tool at her disposal to not warranty this product. I've used Gorilla glue for years. Even purchased several of the Gorilla ladders. Never again will I spend a dime with Gorilla company. I perfectly understand the agents questions, but to immediately build walls is not acceptable. No more business from me.

We appreciate the opportunity to try and resolve a consumer complaint about a product made by The Gorilla Glue Company.

It was presented to us that the consumer used Gorilla Epoxy, and when asked for more information about what the Epoxy was used on, we were told it was an intake manifold.  We advised that our products were not designed to be used on automotive parts such as an intake manifold.  We also asked questions around the use of the Epoxy to ensure how it was used matched the directions on the package.  Adhesives are successful if used properly, meaning on the materials it is designed for and if used correctly.  There was no intent to put up walls, it is our attempt to fully understand a consumers application so we can provide our professional technical advice to ensure success with our product.

We were advised by the consumer that he did return the product to **** ***** and was provided a refund, which we are happy to hear.

Regarding "Gorilla ladders," The Gorilla Glue Company manufactures adhesives and tapes, and not ladders.  There may be other companies that use GORILLA in the name of their products.

We are happy to assist consumers with recommendations and guidance for the best product for their project.  Please feel free to contact us for future technical support.

After dealing with the customer service representative, it was without doubt she was building walls using every tool to not admit defective tube of adhesive. Customer rep then assured me that you cannot use this product under a high heat condition such as engine related repairs. Needless to say, that is a true statement, however, this engine is on a stand out of a vehicle when the product failed to adhere to a small piece of aluminum. I returned the item to where I purchased/ **** ***** and received a refund, funny the cashier informed me that's not the first Gorilla glue epoxy that was defective. Purchased ** weld and finished repair, drilled and tapped threads straight into repair with "no issues whatsoever". I've used Gorilla adhesives before with good results. After this event I will never endorse or purchase another Gorilla product. Consumers need to listen to these concerns. The response from the rep wants you "to believe" they were only trying to get information to ensure the product was used correctly. Her tone was abrasive and condescending. Gorilla corporation should listen to the conversation, this rep needs to cool it and take care of customers. Glad I don't attend their weekly meetings, folks like my rep need serious training. At what it would cost Gorilla for a replacement or refund is beyond me. Thanks BBB for helping me on this matter.

I bought an 8 oz bottle 6 months ago. I cut off the top end and tried to use it, but no liquid came out. So I cut the bottom off, but no glue came out. Upon closer examination, all the liquid inside had hardened. I had the same problem with a little bottle 2 years ago, but I didn't have time to file a claim. I hate this kind of work because it's not about money, it's about taking up my time. However, thank you that your product is made in the USA.

The Gorilla Glue Company is in receipt of the consumer comment regarding a bottle of glue that has dried up.  We are in communication with the consumer to review details of why the polyurethane adhesive may have dried up, what can be done to prevent it, storage information, and learn more about his projects to determine if there is a better glue recommendation we can provide.

A voicemail message was left asking for a call to our Consumer Affairs Team so we can better assist, and are awaiting for the return call.

Purchased a bottle of Gorilla Super Glue a while back and put it in my desk drawer for when needed. I went to use it today and right out of the never opened package it was dried up and useless. I contacted the company and after providing them with all the info except my blood type they told me it was 3 year old and has a shelf life. Seriously?? I've never heard of a shelf life on unopened glue before. NEVER, and I'm not in my teens. It was kept in a climate controlled office. Nowhere on the package does it state it's like a banana with a short shelf life. What a horrible product

      Business response

      07/19/2023

A representative communicated with ***** and obtained information about the bottle of Super Glue.  Based on the coding from the bottle, it was manufactured in 2019.  Adhesives, like many other products, do not have an endless shelf life. Over time, adhesives will either harden in the container or they begin to lose their effectiveness.  The useful life of Gorilla Super Glue can vary due to many factors, such as storage conditions, temperature, and humidity.  Moisture from the air, even if it is kept in a drawer, can get into the bottle and cause the adhesive to setup and harden.

Since the product had been purchased a while ago had never been opened, it indicates that there is not a frequent need to use the glue.  We recommend that if you are not a frequent user of Super Glue, to use our 3g tubes, so a package of Super Glue tubes is being mailed to the address provided.

Please keep in mind when purchasing any type of adhesive that they are best used within a reasonable amount of time from purchase date.

Here's where I am with Gorilla's™ "Incredibly Strong" mounting tape: They say they haven't tested the specific application, so there's nothing they can do. HOWEVER, the (60 lb, 2-sided) tape DID NOT ADHERE TO ITSELF. They refuse to provide me a way to send it back for quality control. They're selling tape without any adhesion. They refuse to do anything about it. There's hundreds of people on Amazon with the same experience as me. This is clearly a scam. All their tape should have adhesion, not 90% of it. If the tape comes without adhesion, there should be some sort of replacement or refund.

      Business response

      03/28/2023

The Gorilla Glue Technical Team reviewed the information provided regarding how the product was used.  The reason the Gorilla Mounting Tape did not work as expected,  is due to the substrates of the lid for the bucket.  Based on what was provided, we assume it is made of a type of plastic that the product is not recommended to be used on (as indicated on the label).  On multiple occasions we attempted to obtain additional details of the project; unfortunately, limited details were provided.  The Gorilla Glue Company places the highest importance on the quality of our products, and we have not had any issues with lack of adhesion for our Mounting Tape products.  Based on the information we were given, it appears to be misuse of the product, which compensation is not offered if not used according to product instructions.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint I* ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below.

Your product requires advanced understanding of chemistry at the post-graduate level. The fact that it's advertised as adhering to plastic, while it doesn't actually adhere to most plastics is farcical. Your marketing of the precise adhesive force of the product, when that force is actually a function of the length of product in the package, is deceptive. Your insistence that the tape must be used precisely as instructed is contrary to everyone's experience of using propose designed tape for other adhesive purposes; duct tape, masking tape, electrical tape, etc. The fact that anything called tape cannot be made to adhere to itself (sticky side to sticky side) is unbelievable. Consumers believe the advertising that your tape is "incredibly strong." This is simply not true. You need to either stand by your product and offer an unconditional guarantee or clearly label the product as "less adhesive for most applications than most tapes."

I bought a 18oz bottle of Gorilla Glue Original for about $20 at Lowes in the last week in August 2022. I was planning on using it for a large project at home but the weather didn't cooperate. Well the weather is looking good now so I decided I would tackle this project. When I grabbed the glue from my hall closet it was completely hard. The bottle was and still is unopened and stored inside. I contacted Gorilla Glue via email and they were unwilling to help me. They first stated that I should buy smaller containers if I plan on storing them. They did confirm that the shelf life is over 1 year for me. I let them know the container was unopened and even provided photos. The then asked for a black vertical number printed on the side. I replied with the request and information me that it was made in 2015. I then asked how a customers were supposed to know this. When we go to the store and pick something up from the shelf we expect the product to be good and fresh. There is no use by date nor a manufactured date and which a customer can read. They replied with if I decided to purchase again I could always contact them to find out when it was made. How inconvenient is this actually. Who is going to call a company to find out when a product was made if they could even get that information. They replied back to my email after I asked about how to identify the date and they asked if I had a receipt which I can send a picture of. I replied with I don't have a receipt from a product I purchased 7 months ago. They claim that they are unable to help me without this. The bottle does not state anywhere on if that if you have a issue or concern, save your receipt. Most proof of purchase just requires the barcode. I feel that if I did provide a picture of the receipt that they would want me to provide something else. I just want a new bottle to replace this bad one. Attached are the email response from Gorilla Glue. I did get upset with them and it shows. Just want my 18oz bottle.
