Mr. Peters has been ordered to make payments for 5 years to make full restitution. If the obligations are not met, the Judge will impose an 18 month prison sentence.
December 15, 2000 in Case No. 00-4064 the Ohio Attorney General charged Gary Peters dba Centerville Travel with violation of the Failure to Deliver Rule 109:4-3-09(A)(2) and the Consumer Sales Practices Act, R.C. 1345.02(A) and Failure to register as a travel agent or tour promoter with the Ohio Secretary of State in violation of Consumer Sales Practices Act R.C. 1345.02(A).
Mr. Peters and Centerville Travel were permanently enjoined from engaging in any unfair, deceptive and unconscionable act or practice in violation of the Consumer Sales Practices Act R.C. 1345.01, and was ordered to pay, as consumer restitution, a monetary award in the amount of $2,723. Mr. Peters was also assessed a civil penalty in the amount of $25,000.
