Recell.io offered to buy my iphone 11 for $160 and I needed money to help pay medical expenses due to my brain injury and ongoing medical issues. They mailed me a check which was returned for insufficient funds. I notified them and they sent another check which also was returned insufficient funds. So I had my phone stolen by Recell.io, and had to pay 2 bank fees. I would like resolution. Order number, copy of returned check attached.Initial Complaint

On may 11th I accepted an offer to sell my ****** ** pro for $595 from recell. I printed the shipping label off directly from the site and received an email from Ariel, who was said to be my contact if I needed assistance at all. On June 2nd I still had the phone in my possession because I unexpectedly broke my newest phone and had to use my old ****** until I could afford to fix my cracked screen. I received another email from recell offering $10 more than the original offer if I followed through with the sale. I replied with a confirmation and on the 9th I shipped the ****** out. There was no correspondence after I shipped the phone and on the 18th I sent a follow up email to inquire about my payment but did not receive a response. When I tried to get in touch through the company website the link was broken. I was never given an address or phone number and since the shipping label was printed directly from the site I am unable to track the shipment. After I mailed my device any trace of the company seemed to disappear from the internet.Initial Complaint

I contacted ********** in March 2023 to sell my ****** using their trade in policy. recell.io gave me an estimate for $875 for my phone and provided shipping label and confirmation. I received confirmation that they received my phone 4 days after I sent it. I started following up one week later for payment. They did not respond for two months. Once they did, Ariel (customer service) stated that my check had been mailed to me. I did not receive the check after 10 days and contacted them again. Ariel said that the mail has been taking longer and to wait 4 more days. I waited seven and contacted them again. I have since emailed them 8 times with no response. I want to receive payment for the phone they received from me immediately. I have also read that they are bouncing checks if they do finally send one - so I would like to receive via money order with tracking. I plan to start small claims court process within next 24 hours.Customer response

contacted REcell to sell our phone on May 29th, shipped the phone to the on the same day. It was delivered on June 5th and acknowledge by them on June 5th. The email stating that they received our phone said they would process it in 2 business days and we would receive notification emails each step of the way. That is the last email we received. I have emailed them numerous times, I have left voicemails and I even texted the phone numbe* ************ asking them to either send our payment for the phone or return our phone to us with no reply. I need either our phone to be shipped back or the $880.00 that they agreed to give to us for it send to my ****** account!Customer response

Contacted this company, Recell on May 18, 2023 where I received a quote and instructions on how to send an ****** ** trade in. I then sent the ****** ** in and received confirmation by the company that the phone was received. I found that they were taking a lot longer than advertised to process my phone, so I sent an email that was later returned to me from the company with instructions just wait a little longer. Then on 6/1/2023 I received an updated counter offer for my ****** ** from the amount of 340.00 to that of 270.00. And I had to act quickly and confirm this change before the offer expired. I accepted the offer immediately and opted to be paid in check form. On the side the company claims to have payment to you in less than a week. After a week passed with no payment received, I began emailing. I never received any response after emailing close to 10 messages. I then located what was supposed to be the phone number for this company online. I called and left several messages with my contact information and have yet to hear back from anyone, or either receive my property returned to me or that of the agreed upon monetary compensation. They received and confirmed the receipt of my phone, but after that, they simply stopped responding to my multiple emails. It has been over a month, and I have neither received payment nor had my phone returned. This level of disregard and lack of communication is completely unacceptable. I sold my ****** ** *** *** gb to Recell. I received an email on 5/8/23 from Ariel saying she was my personal contact. I then got an email on 5/18/23 saying that they received my phone. It passed Mint Condition inspection on 5/19/23 and offered me $680 pay by check. On 5/22/23 I received an email stating the check payment had been issued and I would receive payment within 7 business days. I emailed on 6/9/23 stating I had not yet received my payment. I reached out again via email to Ariel on 6/21/23 and haven't heard from anyone. I am incredibly frustrated with this company and will never use them again.Customer response

I sold Recell my ****** ** after finding them online as a trusted buyback option. Recell received my ****** ** on 6/5. On 6/5 they sent me a request for payment adjustment due to some small scratches on the screen. Original price was $340 adjusted was $300, I accepted the re-quote and processed as directed from recell. It has now been 2 weeks with ZERO communication from Recell on when I will receive my $300. I have sent emails and left voicemail messages. I am going to be filing a police report this week reporting my cell phone as stolen since that is what has happened. Recell is a scam and needs to be prosecuted.Initial Complaint

I sent them two ****** 11s quoted at 125$ and 245$. After being told that the payment would arrive within 7 business days, I only received one check for 125$ several days late. I have been trying to contact them for almost a week now about the other payment they owe me or to send me my device back. Today the check for 125$ bounced causing my account to overdraft. Their silence and payment bouncing makes me believe this is a scam operation and not a legitimate business. I would either like the combined 360$ quoted for both phones or my devices returned to me. I would also warn anyone of doing business with them in the future.Customer response
