Okay so this all started at the beginning of April 2023. My 2014 Chevy Equinox broke down, to be specific my timing chain broke. I live way below poverty level. I get assistance from Job and family service for Snap benefits and medical. I am employed and work 30 + hours a week. I got help from Logan County Job and Family services through PRC program to get it fixed through Dusty's Auto Repair by Dusty Jarrret. It took over a month for job and family to get the check to him. He got the check on May 19th 2023. I didn't get my car worked on till a week later. I received my car back on June 3rd 2023. on June 17th 2023 my car broke down again when I came out from my dr. appointment. For the same thing that it had been just fixed by Dusty for, a broken timing chain. My grandpa had it towed a few days later from where it was at to a shop in Bellefontaine called Mechanitechs for a diagnosis because he didn't trust Dusty. Mechanitechs told me that it was the timing chain (I have a copy of their report/diagnosis). If it was a bad part my car wouldn't have been able to leave the shop, so obviously it was bad work. I took the diagnosis over to Dusty to show him and also to make him fix his screw up. That was on June 23, 2023. He stated then that he would fix it free of charge because he knew I could prove it was his fault. Before I would even agree to let him tow my car to his shop to fix it I typed up an agreement stating that if my car broke down within 60 days of it leaving his shop for any reason pertaining to the work he had done to it that he had to pay for it to be done by the shop of my choice. He signed the agreement probably because I threatened him with court if not. My car hasn't moved from where he had it towed to. So now my vehicle has been at his shop a total of almost 5 months all together with the previous work and the work he is suppposed to be doing on it now and has yet to do anything. He gives me excuse after excuse as to why nothing has been done.
