We are a family of close-knit podiatric professionals working together to achieve an exemplary level of customer care for our patients.       I visited Community Foot Specialists on January 10, 2024, to be fitted for a set of orthotics. I was asked about payment. The doctor told me that "either way" (using insurance or not), the devices would be $500, and that I would need to pay a $250 deposit, which I did. The MA told me that they would call Anthem on Friday regarding insurance. I asked that she call me with the results; I received no call. On February 8, the office called to schedule an appointment to pick up the devices. I asked about insurance. She told me that she did "not have access to that information"; I'd need to speak with someone else. She left a message asking that they return my call. On Monday, February 12, I received a call from Gracie, who informed me that a PA was not required for the devices; however, the insurance would only cover the devices "once you've met your deductible." I explained that my deductible had partially been met, and that the devices would easily meet the rest of it. She kept repeating what she had told me initially. Eventually she said that someone in billing (*****) would be better able to answer my questions; ***** never returned my call. At my next appointment, I again asked about insurance. *******, the office manager told me that because I had already chosen the "self pay" option, billing insurance was not possible. When I told her I had never made that decision, she called billing, and then asked me to sign several documents, one of which was partially handwritten. I called my insurance company, and after speaking with them, refused to sign the documents, as I had already signed an acknowledgement of the practices financial policies at my previous visit. ******* told me these were "CYA" documents; I reiterated my refusal to sign them. She then called billing and asked me to speak with *****. She was rude, unsympathetic and offered no additional information or solutions; I ended the call, then left the practice without the product and without the deposit.

      Terrible manners, the girl at the front desk when I arrived was rude saying I should have been there 30 minutes before my appointment which I was not told when my appointment was made. She also had to add in that it was 15 minutes before they were going to lunch, my apt. Was at 11:30 and they go to lunch at 11:45. She said she would have to ask if the Dr would still see me (bc i was late although i wasnt told to be there early and i was really right on time, i also got lost on the way there). Which she said she would. When I got into the room they took an xray, the girl was nice but seemed to be in a hurry. When the doctor came in she said she basically could not help me because I got hurt at work (I have heel spurs apparently which i did not know but i don't think thats something that happens bc you hurt yourself however i am not a doctor) and they don't do workman's comp. I proceeded to tell her I didn't fill out any paperwork to go through workman's comp. She still said she could not help me. Just an all around bad experience, rude and just in a hurry to eat lunch which I understand but if that's the case they shouldn't have scheduled my apt. For 15 minutes before they go to lunch
