On Black Friday this business was running a special that was $200 for a year of unlimited tanning which began in January 2025. They requested cash only. I paid this amount. The package began in January and then a few weeks into January a sign was placed on the door saying they were temporarily closed. I reached out to other locations (franchise) and they advised this location had been permanently closed.
When I asked for the owner or a manager to contact me in regard to this matter, I was told they don’t handle complains. They also stated they issue no refunds and that my only option was to cancel my account, which is pointless because it’s already paid for the entire year.
It just seems like the business knew they were closing this location and ran a scam to get cash. Now they won’t talk to customers about it.
Their only remedy was they have other locations. All of which are 20-30 minutes away and not feasible for something like tanning.Initial Complaint

This business charged my debit card $188.20 and I have not had a membership with them for over 2 years. They fraudulently debited this money and when I brought the issue up with the manager Sam, she said she’d look into it. I have been texting her to find a resolution as to when my bank account will be refunded, but she has not responded.Initial Complaint

I had account at ******************** and The woman with the dark hair pointy nose and short , fixed my account to where it was paused kinda, due to me having surgery and heal time , I could not go. I recently inquired about my account and was ****** informed that I owe 181 I could not go tanning they said they paused it. And when I recently called the same rude lady answered I requested to speak to owner and she said no they don't even live in town . I'm a customer I have the right to talk to the owner so since I can't talk to owner I'm am seeing if I can get help this way.Business Response

I went to buy the beach salem ohio location on saturday 12/16/23 where I tanner for 7 minutes and started to burn very badly because the beds were not cleaned and another customers lotion was having a reaction on my skin. Told the front desk girl where she said it's because of new bulbs or because the cleaner they use is not strong enough to clean the "tingler" lotions off the beds. Spoke to a manager where she told me this happens a lot and there is nothing they can do. It is what it is and yelled "ma'am what do you want me to do about it" I told her they need to put signs up, make sure the beds are being cleaned or don't allow the lotions. I asked for a refund she wouldn't give it to me said she will see what she can do. Try contacting owner multiple times for refund with no response. Reached back out to manager with no response. I spoke with a manager, Sam, on 5/22/2023 at 7:59 AM. I signed up for a beach bum membership on 5/26/23 and paid $84.46 The worker was very rude and didn't know what membership i was talking about and had to contact another location. The beds there are terrible. the panel to adjust the fan and face settings was completely busted with a hole and sharp plex glass pieces sticking out. I went to a different location hoping it would be better. It was in fact worse and smells like sewage. i then went back to Austintown to do a spray tan, which is included in my package, and got back to the room to get the spray and there were someone's underwear from who knows when hanging on the wall. Unsanitary and disgusting. I got redressed and had to walk out to tell the front counter girl about it and that there are no hair nets in the room....which are supposed to be provided by the establishment. she laughed and said we are all out. got a plastic bag out of the garbage can behind the front desk and told me to just put that over my head. I have been emailing and calling to speak to a manager. I only want my money back and my membership canceled, but no one will return my calls. I have tried to be civil and get this settled and they will not allow me to speak to anyone above Sam, the manager, refund my money, cancel my membership, and actually charged my card another month for $84.96 for another month. i have refused to go back in the place. i just want all of my money back and to never have contact with this company again. I am also contacting the cosmetology board for ohio and the health department for the infectious and dangerous conditions their equipment and establishment have.Initial Complaint

Had a tanning account with them for several years. Canceled on May 17, 2023. Signed the cancelation request that the store provided. I then asked - Since I am canceling before the next payment is due (monthly subscription which is 31.55/month debited from my checking) which is May 21, 2023 - I wont be charged, right? The worker informed me that they would charge my debit for one more month , they need 30 day notice. I agreed to the charge on May 21 - which they did take it. Then I look at my bank statement and they charged my debit card another 31.55 on June 20th - I called to tell them to reverse the charge. My account is closed- I closed it on May 17th - I signed the paper, the worker said no we have to bill you for another month - we need 30 days - I explained that it was already taken on May 21 and now they charged again on June 20th. She said no, we have to do it again for another month. I asked if there was someone else that I could speak with and she said she would pass my name and number to her boss but she didnt think she would call me. The worker was correct about her boss not calling. I just want credited back the 31.55 and not to be charged ever again. Please help.Initial Complaint

I bought a 2 week unlimited level 2 tanning package to prepare for Hawaii where Im getting married. I went 5 or 6 times WITHOUT getting tan and decided to ask the employees why I wasn’t getting tan, because I’ve been tanning for years, and I always get dark quickly. The employee at the front desk and *** the manager both told me that the bulbs in most of their beds are old and haven’t been changed in a very long time, which means they do not work as they should. They are all aware that the beds do not work, yet they are selling packages to customers. This is very deceitful and bad business. They also admitted that they don’t have a working dryer at this time and have to wring out each towel used and hang them on a line. This does not seem like good practice to me. I have yet to get anyone there to credit my account or offer a refund for tanning I paid for but never received.
If a business can not provide the services they advertise and charge their clients for, then is that not fraud?
This needs looked into immediately.
