• Advertising Review:

  In June 2024, BBB contacted NorthCoast Consult regarding claims in its advertising. 
  
  Its advertising states:
  "Let NorthCoast Consult Identify what is Hurting your Score and Fix it!"
  "We will work to clean up your credit by removing negative accounts, delinquencies, collections, bankruptcy’s, inquires, incorrect personal information etc."
  "As most credit repair companies charge a monthly subscription, it can take several months, even years, Northcoast will make a heavy impact on your credit health within a month with a flat rate fee, and with the knowledge we provide you with, you will see results to follow over the next couple months."
  "Our experts employ proven methods to address negative items on your credit report, working to improve your credit score over time."
  "We offer guidance on managing and reducing debt effectively, helping you regain control of your financial situation."
  The BBB Code of Advertising states that the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any claims or offers made before publication or broadcast and, upon request, present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or the Better Business Bureau. Claims relating to performance or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data.  The business did not respond to BBB's request that it provide substantiation for these claims.  
  
  Its advertising includes testimonials from clients, including:
  "I can't believe how fast my credit score was boosted and all the negative accounts that came off since contacting NorthCoast Credit Consult, and they helped me understand my credit so I can continue to improve it on my own."
  "I felt so overwhelmed I did not even know where to begin with fixing my credit, I knew nothing. Sal and Daryl were so helpful and so kind along the way. My credit score went up a little over 100 points with their help in just a month!"
  "My credit score went up 72 points after they removed 6 inquires and a collections account, I couldn't be happier :)!
  "They not only improved my credit score TREMENDOUSLY but also educated me so I feel confident enough to continue to improve my score on my own.136 points yall, my score went up 136 points in 3 weeks!"  
  In general, advertising which uses testimonials or endorsements is likely to mislead or confuse if it contains representations or statements which would be misleading if made directly by the advertiser and if the consumer’s experience represented in an advertisement is not the typical experience of those using the product or service, unless the advertisement clearly and conspicuously discloses what the expected results will be. Such claims require substantiation.  The business did not respond to BBB's request when it asked if these examples are typical results, and if not, what results can their customers expect on average.
