    On October 2, 2024 we purchased an **/ Heat pump from Gree Mechanical Yonkers, LLC. We went with this company because they were collaborating with ********** and their rebate program. We initially had an issue with the installation, but overall was completed. We started using the ** portion around mid May 2024. Over the past 2 months, the ** unit has caused massive water damage to our downstairs basement, creating black mold and damaging our carpet. The week of June 21st, the unit outside completely froze and shut down, leaving us with no ** for a few days during the extreme heat. On July 16th, it flooded again and created black mold on the sheet rock and carpet and damaged some furniture. The unit is not even a year old. We have limited the use of the unit only turning it on at night briefly to cool down the house and leaving it on 70 degrees to minimize the effort of the unit. We have dealt with the house being extremely hot during the past months heat waves and have children, ourselves and our pets who are being exposed. At this point, it needs to be fixed immediately to ensure it doesn't cause further damage and compensate for the damage it has already caused. We purchased a sub pump and container to collect the water (separate from and not tampering with the unit) and drain the water since one was never installed and the machine was not adequately set up. We contacted the company by phone when the issue 1st started and could not give us a resolution nor did they come out. We contacted them again on July 16, 2024 with images of the flooding and water damage asking to fix and make good on the machine, but was told by the technician they wont fix it and to contact their lawyer. A few days later, the owner sent an email back stating that we had tampered with the machine and the contract was null and void. Again, we did not touch or change the integrity of the machine, just placed a container under an open valve to collect the water pouring from it.
