June 8th2022, ****** *** *** **** installed an inground pool in my backyard, at *** **** ******* ******. The installation took about one week. From June until July, I continued to look for an electrician for the pool project. On July 28th, I met with Karen J****, an electrician, that owns Eco Electrical Solutions. We walked around the property days prior, and she took measurements. On July 28th Karen provided us with an invoice which included materials need for project and the cost of labor. The price on the invoice is $3,150. On July 29th I gave Karen more than half of the deposit. She was given $2000. In September, Karen expressed concerns for the ditch and stated that it was ******’s responsibility to dig the trench. After a meeting with everyone that included ******, Karen, my significant other and myself, it was agreed that ****** would dig the trench even though it was the electrician’s responsibility. In October of 2022, Karen stated that she would have a worker that she hired start the job on Wednesday Oct. 12th. The electrician eventually started mid-October. When the hired electrician started, he noted more materials that were needed for the project, which included, materials for the control box and panel, including wiring from the pool to the control panel. Karen was unaware of a control panel needed for an inground pool to provide electrical to the pool light. Therefore, there were extra materials needed. She informed us of this. We asked for her to provide an additional itemized invoice for the materials needed for the control panel and agreed to pay the additional cost once completed. We have reached out to Karen multiple times re: the invoice. Per her electrician he has asked for the material numerous times as well. My significant other sent her a text message on December 19th asking for an itemized invoice again because it has been more than a month at this point. ****** wanted to backfill prior to the snow fall. On December 21st Karen called demanding that the first invoice be paid in full (the job remains incomplete with labor and materials). Karen sent the additional invoice with the demands of payment and not itemized like discussed. Although I explained to Karen that I needed to call the permit office to make sure the project was inspected, she became irate and continued to demand money. I checked my cameras for the day and noted only the electrician on the property, along with my significant other showing his presence at some point. Never once was the city on my property that day. After calling the city of Syracuse and appearing there Tuesday 12/27/22, we were told by ***** ********’s supervisor “this is just an FYI, your electrician has called multiple times trying to pull back her permit. She no longer wants her name on the project”. He also gave me a snapshot print out of ***** *********’s computer, showing that an inspection was done on Dec. 21st and is approved to backfill. Because ***** did not sign off the certification, I did not receive a certificate of approval. I have reached out to ***** several times re: the certification with no returned phone call yet. On Wednesday 12/28 Karen sent a text stating that she will be placing a hold on the project until payment is received. Karen also stated that she will attach late fees and place a lien on the property and project. The project electrical work remains incomplete. Fast forwarding to March of 2023, Karen J**** finally came out to the pool site and agreed that the electrical was not complete. She stated that she would complete the work and eat the cost of the balance. Late July Karen stated that she was complete with the work. Two of her workers had supposedly completed the work. I paid her $1000.oo instead of her eating the cost. ****** came out to test the electrical and pump, as soon as they turned the switch on to the pool, the pool light blew. The light blew because the pool light was on the same switch as the pump and filter. In the beginning Karen was emailed multiple time all the manuals for the pool, pump, filter, and light. She also stated that she has done electrical for many pools. She stated that ****** did not tell her about the AMP for the light. If you installed pools, why does ****** need to tell you your job? ****** has not back filled or poured concrete due to the electrical not being completed. Today 8/3/23, I reached out to Karen via text to find out her plans for coming to complete the electrical. She stated next Wednesday. Mind you last week she stated 8/3. On several occasions that I have spoken to Karen about competition of the project, each time the day gets moved back or there’s an excuse as to why she cannot complete the job.
