On October 10th 2022, we provided our children's daycare facility with written notice that October 21st would be their last day, in accordance with their 2 week notification requirement. In the letter we explained that we had found a facility closer to home and it would best for our family to transition the kids there. We explained to the teachers that the kids would likely not be in this week for medical reasons, but might return for the last week. If so, we would bring anything they needed for the day. The teachers seemed to understand. The next day we tried to access the building and our badges had been deactivated, by the director. We have paid for 2 weeks for our children to attend this institution, but our access was deactivated immediately. This seems like a hostile retaliation, if not a passive aggressive response, to our 2 weeks notice. It impresses upon me that my children and I are not welcome to return, and I would like to be refunded for the last week we had paid to attend, but are no longer welcome to do so. We have not yet received a receipt of payment for the two weeks, so I have no proof that we have paid until they cash the check, hopefully send a receipt, or have some record of it in my bank statement.
