I went to the NAVTOOL website August 15th, and purchased a product used for adding rear view camera to my Grandfathers 2010 MKX, on a Sunday. For shipping I selected 2-day shipping.I received two emails. First an order acknowledged, and second a receipt, for $379.11, which was the correct amount, and matched what my credit card was charged. On Thursday, August 18th, I contacted NAVTOOL, about my order. First, I was told I was sent an email stating the product is not in stock due to the chip shortage. Then, they said emails dont go through to att accounts, despite my telling them I did get two emails. I was then told they had not charged my card, and that they make $250k/year. I sent a screenshot of my Amex account, showing the charge.I was then told I was charged because I ordered on line, and would give me refund. I asked for a confirmation for a refund, and was told again they make $250k/year. I called my CC company to dispute the charge. They then wrote back and said it was a felony to lie to the CC company. No lies, just a horrible supplier.

The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Isn't a ***************** and Can't Force Companies to Act
MANY CONSUMERS THINK THE BBB IS A GOVERNMENT AGENCY THAT CAN SOLVE THEIR PROBLEMS, BUT IT'S PRIMARILY A BUSINESS MEMBERSHIP ORGANIZATION
    FEBRUARY 22, 2022
If you tell your friends that you're having a problem with a company, someone is bound to tell you to contact the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for help. But can the BBB really help you? Many people are confused about why the BBB actually does. The BBB is primarily a business membership organization, not a government agency. But the BBB can prove a good source of useful information about companies.

CONSUMERS SURPRISED BY LACK OF RESULTS
Many consumers report feeling frustrated that they did not receive the help they expected from the BBB. Why? Some consumers are surprised to see that the BBB is merely facilitating communication between themselves and a company or that to learn that the BBB was unable to force a company to take action. This stems from an erroneous perception that the BBB is a government agency. It is not. It is, in fact, a business membership organization with chapters spread across the country.

    BBB GIVES A COMMUNICATION MEDIUM
The BBB does offer consumers a way to communicate with a business and voice their concerns via a third party, but they are ultimately unable to force a business to do anything. Moreover, not all businesses have BBB accreditation, which can cost many hundreds of dollars per year. Businesses without this accreditation are less likely to communicate with consumers through the BBB versus those who have a paid membership. And just because a business is responding to you through the BBB doesn't necessarily mean that you'll get anywhere.

WHAT DOES SATISFACTORY BBB MEMBERSHIP ENTAIL
Satisfactory membership in the BBB generally involves the paying of a membership fee and responding to consumer complaints in a timely manner. There are no stipulations that a business do anything to resolve a complaint or address the complaint a particular way. Some consumers report that responses from companies through the BBB are often short and do nothing to address their issues. Of course, every situation is different. Some consumers have successfully arbitrated through the BBB and others have seen satisfactory complaint resolution. But these may be cases where the company was already willing to work with the consumer to make things right.

    DON'T EXPECT A RESOLUTION

    CONTACT ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE
Letters written on behalf of the ************** Attorney General's Office generally receive satisfactory resolutions to consumer complaints very quickly. In cases where the business does not respond or is engaging in illegal acts, the Attorney General, as the chief law enforcement officer in the state, can step in and take legal action on the consumer's behalf. The BBB cannot.

AN "A+" RATING DOESN'T REALLY MEAN A BUSINESS IS TRUSTWORTHY
Sometimes you can see that a company has an "A" rating with the BBB, and these scores are often tossed around in advertisements, but that doesn't mean the company is trustworthy. It simply means that the company has upheld its obligation to the BBB and followed their membership rules. Ratings come from a variety of factors from time in business to the number of complaints received, both answered and unanswered.
Please note that we are not discouraging consumers from using the BBB. While the BBB cannot force a company to do anything, the BBB does offer consumers valuable insight into companies and may be able to resolve issues through arbitration.

BBB CAN OFFER YOU INSIGHT INTO COMPANY
"The BBB can give a consumer an indication of the company by complaint statistics, which might make a consumer think twice about a certain company," continues *******. "We recommend consumers not ignore other avenues and explore all options available to them before so much time has expired that they are unable to take further action. ******* further cautions that a perfect BBB score and no complaints is not an indication of a perfect company. "It could mean that no one has yet chosen to file a complaint."

BBB AFFILIATES TYPICALLY CARE ABOUT CONSUMERS
Just like the ********************************, the vast majority of BBB affiliates work with the communities in which they are based to educate consumers about the consumer marketplace. While there have been cases of local affiliates, such as the BBB of Southland that served the ************************, being expelled from the organization, the vast majority have dedicated staffs that genuinely want to help consumers and prevent problems before they occur.

And in have checcket nothing has been recieved on either of the adresses they had.  It is still very strange that they have no order confirmations to show or any documentations of emails send to me or anything at all.   At they claim that they have BBB A+ rating, but at BBB they score very low.

On 7/19/2022 I made an online purchase of an interface to add Apply CarPlay to my daugher's vehicle. The purchase was completed following a lengthy online chat with a NavTool representative. Early in the online chat it was established that the vehicle does not have factory navigation. I asked a lot of questions about the function of the device, including how the device would be controlled and was told it would be controlled by my vehicle's analog controls. After receiving and installing the device I learned that a Bluetooth remote is required to control the device. The device cannot be controlled with with my vehicle's controls because the vehicle is not equipped with navigation. Again, the representative was aware of this fact when I was told the device would be controlled by my vehicle's controls. I have shared a copy of the chat transcript with NavTool and also explained that the remote is unresponsive and will create an unsafe distraction for my teenage daughter when driving. I feel that the functionality of the device was misrepresented and I would like to return the device for a full refund. It has been removed from the vehicle and I have shared photos with the merchant. I was finally given a link for returns but keep getting a rejection message. I have contacted NavTool repeatedly by e-mail and chat but have only received harassing e-mails in response. I have been called a scammer and have been threatened with a lawsuit for posting an honest ****** review. I have copies of all chat transcripts, including links to videos sent that misrepresented the device that I was to receive for my specific vehicle.

In cases where a consumer decides to use BBB complaint resolution, the consumer should also explore other complaint avenues available at the same time."

While there have been cases of local affiliates, such as the BBB of Southland that served the ******************* area, being expelled from the organization, the vast majority have dedicated staffs that genuinely want to help consumers and prevent problems before they occur.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

    Hello,

The response from the business says "how can we help you?"

I've explained to the business a number of times that I would like to return the product for a full refund.  Can you please communicate this to the business?

Each time the business responds it is simply "what do you want from us?" or something similar and we continue to communicate the request is to return the product for a full refund.

    Thank you for your help.

I bought a NavTool interface devise that was supposed to work with my model car. My installer, audio express worked with NavTool and found that it would not work with my model car. I was informed by NavTool to send it back, I did and have been trying to get them to pay back my money from march till now. I was also harassed by NavTool after giving bad review on trustpilot. They posted my personal info on internet and said if I pull down review they would take my information down. I did screenshot this and have text msg. Communication from this individual. I contacted trustpilot and they did take it off after confirmation of my business dealings with NavTool. I still have their receipt and rerun receipt from mailing it back. My resolution would be that they pay me back my ****** that I paid for unit.Thank you *************************

I contacted NavTool because the product was not working as described. I provided a video and they determined I had a faulty remote and offered to send a new one. However, because I was within the 14-day return period, I asked for a refund. They agreed and sent me an RMA after I paid $100 for the return shipping. They received the return on June 29th, confirmed by ***** tracking. I also confirmed with their customer support, who indicated they would endorse the return for a review. It has been over a month and they have not refunded my payment or updated me on the status. Have both chatted and called their customer service reps several times and each time they say the exact same thing "we will endorse the return for a review and you will get a return". When I pushed to speak to a manager, the rep said she is the manager and that the Sr. ******** have to review and authorize the return based on when they receive items. It has been over 4 wks with a ***** confirmed delivery and chats messages with their reps that determined the remote was faulty. I followed their return policy and still, they are giving the run around and not fulfilling their end fo the policy.

They do not honor their lifetime warranty at all, nor do they help me fix all the problems Ive had since I bought their Navtool 6.0 unit earlier this year:1-They told me my factory lanewatch camera would still work while using their carplay interface, but that is not true at all;2- Call quality issue while my phone is connected to their Carplay module. Every time I take a call while being connected to Navtool, the default device audio output is Carplay. The problem is that this Carplay output is not my cars factory bluetooth system, I think it uses my iPhones mic and speaker, so I cannot hear what they say and my mic quality is awful.3- When I select Aux to hear my phones through Navtool, I hear a constant and annoying hummmm/static noise (all the time, not only when the volumes level is high). They say it is normal since every AUX audio do that, but thats just bullsh**.4- from time to time, Navtool wont power up so I have to restart the vehicle hoping it will work after.I tried to fix these issues with them and I have been patient, but now they wont even answer my messages (SMS, ********* emails). If you buy their products, keep in mind that if you are not lucky and need their assistance, they wont help you/honor their lifetime warranty, which is only a marketing strategy.

On 11/7/2021, Ive ordered *** 5 SERIES/M5 2004-2009 VIDEO INTERFACE with Apple CarPlay from Navtool *** for $719.98 After many months of wait, Ive finally received a confirmation that the product is shipped on 02/10/2022. Since Feb, 15th 2022 to Apr 26th, there has been more 46 e-mails exchanged with Navtool as the product isnt working as specified. The initial trouble was there was no instruction or manual that would help me with the *** project, the links that were provided were of a similar product and had to make some assumptions to get it installed Ive shared all the videos of the product after installation stating that there is a heavy flickering and the product isnt working as show in the sales videos. Navtool support has repeatedly stated that there is a major bug in the product that the technology team will fix it, yet there is no real attempt or update on the fix till date. Im highly worried that its been more than 6 months and I was given a non working product and fixing major technical issues are sending the product to tech is very weird. Ive many a times humbly requested to refund my money and send a return label to give the product yet, Navtool falsefiying that I have passed the refund period and I will not get a refund and the product isnt working As a consumer of the electronic goods, I was given a non working product and as per my communication since February 2022, Id really like to return this product which isnt right for my car and need my hard earned money to be fully refunded

    ********** are welcome to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau," **** ************************** **** **** ********** ********** ****** ** ********** ******** **** *** ****** ******** ****** *** ** ** *** ******** * ******** ** ** ********* ***** * ******** **** ****** ****** *** * ******** **** * ******** * ******** **** ***** ***** ***** **** ******** ***** **** ******* ********* *** ************** ******** ********* ****** ** ***** ***** ************"

In cases where a consumer decides to use BBB complaint resolution, the consumer should also explore other complaint avenues available at the same time."
******* further cautions that a perfect BBB score and no complaints is not an indication of a perfect company. "It could mean that no one has yet chosen to file a complaint."

BBB AFFILIATES TYPICALLY CARE ABOUT CONSUMERS
Just like the ************** ****************** the vast majority of BBB affiliates work with the communities in which they are based to educate consumers about the consumer marketplace. While there have been cases of local affiliates, such as the BBB of Southland that served the ******************* area, being expelled from the organization, the vast majority have dedicated staffs that genuinely want to help consumers and prevent problems before they occur.
