    Please see review by Tara D. I have very similar comments. Women who live alone, beware, he will try to walk all over you, bully you and generally take advantage of you every chance he gets . His demeanor changes drastically when a male is around. Not only does he do awful construction work - I have had a lot of it redone - he is quite the bully to women including his girlfriend. I have personally observed this.

    I wish there was a 0* option. Consumers BEWARE of Brian C S*****(s), and his "company" Better Contracting Services. We made the mistake of trusting him with a renovation of our late grandfathers cabin, and he has done nothing but destroy it, along with stealing $93910 worth of money and materials. The second you question his integrity he becomes defensive and angry. Luckily we are organized and have every interaction documented for our civil suit. He will cut corners to pocket more money, and create “codes" to inflate your prices. He told us our kitchen cabinets had to be fire rated due to an Ulster County code....there is no such thing as a county code, let alone a NY State Code as per the code enforcement officer of our town. When we called to question these $24,000 (base unfinished) cabinets the officer looked up our property only to find out there were NEVER ANY PERMITS FILED for any work done by Mr. S*****. He had told us about interactions with the code officer, and how expensive and hard it was to obtain such permits. The code officer had never had a single interaction with Mr S***** until the day she placed a stop work order on our property. When you ask for proof of receipts or orders he will not produce them. He has an excuse for everything, and will blame you for all issues. He has removed structural beams, leaving our property unsafe with the risk of collapsing at the first snowfall. Estimates of work done by numerous other contractors deem his work unprofessional, sloppy, and subpar. It all needs to be ripped out/replaced due to his negligence. Do not trust this man with anything! He left our property in disarray, even tried to take our paint with a police escort to get his tools. He had promised to exchange our materials the day he picked up his tools with the officer....he brought NOTHING. We regret ever doing business with him, and we hope this review will prevent anyone from dealing with the headache Mr S***** has brought upon our family.
