Subject: Concerns Regarding Towing Charges in Rotterdam, NY

    Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my concerns regarding a recent towing incident that occurred on ******* ****** Rd, Rotterdam, NY, and the associated charges. I believe there may be a misunderstanding, and I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

On September 14,223 I was involved in a car accident on ******* ****** Rd, and the ********* Police Department promptly responded to the scene. Subsequently, they called a tow truck to the accident spot, which was conveniently located only 1/4 mile away from my residence. I complied with the towing request and paid $575.00 in cash for the service.

However, I was taken aback when I subsequently contacted the tow company and spoke with the owner. During our conversation, the owner informed me that a charge of $225.00 was attributed to the mere act of them being dispatched by the ********* Police. Regrettably, I was not made aware of these charges either by the police officers at the scene or by the tow truck operator.

I genuinely believe that there may be a misunderstanding or lack of communication regarding these charges, as I was not provided with any prior notification. Moreover, I would appreciate clarification regarding the necessity of this fee, given that the police initiated the tow.

I kindly request your assistance in addressing this matter and ensuring a fair resolution. Specifically, I would like to inquire if it is possible to receive a refund of the $225.00 charge associated with the police-initiated towing service, as I was not provided with any notice of this expense.

In my pursuit of understanding and resolving this situation, I am committed to cooperating fully with any requests for documentation or information that may be necessary. I value the services provided by the ********* Police Department and the tow company, and I intend to ensure that this situation is resolved amicably.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response and any guidance you can provide in addressing this concern promptly.

    Sincerely,

    ******* ****

BBB spoke to the business and the following was relayed: The police called me out.  I performed a service.  She has to pay.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  If you look at bill he charged me two tows . His bill doesn’t say service fee.

    Regards,
