Please be wary with this dealership. Initially, sales was friendly during the test drive. After consideration, my family wanted to move forward with a Carnival Hybrid. I made my offer to my salesman which was presented to the Manager. Ultimately, we could not reach an agreement on a discount, which is fine. Here is where things get slimy. I had submitted a pre-approval credit application on the *** website. I figured this would be housed through *********** and would be valid across all of their dealer networks. When we couldnt agree to a discount, I called up the salesman and requested a copy of my pre-approval. He looked into it and told me that there is nothing he can give me because "it is in the computer". So I said, OK, please send me a copy of it via email. Response was, sorry, theres nothing I can send you, its all digital in the system. I questioned it again, because at this point, I felt there was something illegal with not presenting me with my credit report, etc. He said he would talk to his finance manager. Salesman came back again and said, sorry I have nothing to give to you. I talked to *********** and they advised me to talk to the dealer again, which I did. When I brought this up again with the salesman and told him I need this pre-approval to show another dealership that is willing to work with me, he tries to say that "that dealer will not give you a discount without marking up their finance rate". I advised him that that was not the case, but he kept trying to make false statements to try and change my mind about going to another dealership. I left a message with the finance manager requesting a call back to clarify this issue before making a complaint. Almost 2 weeks later, I have yet to receive a phone call back, and I am now the new owner of a properly discounted Carnival from another dealership.I plan on making a formal complaint to *** as well as other avenues, because I feel my truth in lending rights have been violated.Customer Answer

I called Karp Kia service department on August 30 asking if a particular repair would be covered by my warranty. My check engine light had come on in July and another auto repair place i had visited told me what the error codes were and that the issue had to do with a thermometer that would likely cost about $500. I wanted to know from *** if the issue was what the other repair place had identified whether it would be covered by my warranty on my kia ********* I was told they would not tell me unless i came in and did a diagnostic for approximately $300. It does not make sense that *** could not answer a question about my warranty without requiring I do a $300 diagnostic first. If the issue was indeed the thermometer and it wasn't covered by warranty i would do the repair somewhere other than ***. That is the information I wanted to know prior to any diagnostic and for *** to withhold that information unless I paid $300 first is extremely deceptive and poor customer service.I would like *** to contact me and answer my question about whether engine codes ******* and ******* relating to the thermometer regulating cooling system performance would be covered by warranty should I bring my car to a *** service location.Initial Complaint

I leased my car from KARP Kia, specifically from ******* *****. When I spoke with the sales man, he stated that the dealership would be buying the car, therefore there would be no additional fee owed to *********** and that they would close out the account. My contract has that I did not owe any additional money. However, I have 11 deregotatroy marks on my credit report that they wrote off $900 and that now money was paid to *********** or closed out on the dealership end. I have called and the dealership left message throught the year and can not get one person to answer my call. They pulled a complete bait and switch when I leased the car and have ruinded my credit. I should not be held responsible for this $900 dollar bill I received after I closed out my account. This is the second time I have had an issue dealing with *** and *** ******* with their lies and deception. I also received documentation that the dealership did infact sell the car, which ******* told me would leave nothing oweded to *********** as they would purchase the car from them. I am looking to to have this resolved so I can restore my credit.Initial Complaint

Between November 16th 2023 and December 26th 2023 we brought our car to karp kia for a transmission noise. The problem was misdiagnosed twice, first they claimed it was an exaust heat shield and the second time it was a glob of grease. When they finally checked the fluid of the transmission they found metal bit they wanted to mark the transmission up 1000$ which our warranty wouldn't cover so we had to take the car to a shop that could do the job. Both visits incurred a cost of 250 each, 500 in total of diagnostic fees that the dealer has refused to refund. I have written formal letters and emailed ever manager at this dealership to no avail. We have tried calling but you are not allowed to talk to any manager and they are never in. They were incompetent in diagnosing properly and will not communicate to rectify the issue. Ready other reviews this appears to be a reoccurring instance for many.Customer Answer

July 10, 2023, I brought my 2015 *** ****** to Karp Kia service because I received a verbal warning from my *** ******* on my car dash announcing that I could have an engine failure and needed immediate attention. I had no physical symptoms that I noticed. *********** told me I needed a charcoal canister (849), alternator (950) and engine management service (899)=$2698+tax. Too expensive so I took the car to **************** , a ******** long standing service center to have the canister and alternator replaced at a better price. I was told by them that I didnt need a new canister or alternator. I needed a battery and a new gas cap and vent valve. I have spent the last few weeks trying to get the physical diagnostic specifications printout showing me their information. I paid $249.83 to *** for this information. Spoke to someone named ****, no help. Spoke to *******************, General manager. He was to speak to their mechanic ******* and call me by end of day. Never called. A few days later, I called him at the # he called me from and got a message that the voicemail not set up! *************). I called corporate ***************) and spoke to ******** in ******. She said ******************* would call. That was two days ago. I want a refund of the $249.83 that I paid in good faith for information. No more promises thank you, *************************Initial Complaint

I purchased a 2016 ************** from Karp Kia in 2019, with around ***** miles on it. Recently after driving home from a ski trip in February, my engine began leaking oil and seized on the side of the highway. After being diagnosed by a local Kia *********** a 50 mile tow trip from where I broke down, they found my oil plug in the under-shroud of my car. It had come out of the engine whilst I was driving. I have only had my car serviced at this location to avoid any infringements on my certified pre-owned warranty. The oil plug seemed to have not been tightened correctly during my last oil change. This location provided ZERO assistance. After speaking with general manager of the *********** he informed me that there was nothing they could do unless I payed to tow the car 300+ miles back to their dealership. Now my sub 45K mile car needed a replacement engine and I had to pay fully out of pocket as mechanical failure without an internal defect is not covered under the *** warranty. I also had to rent cars to get home and also to get to work for the next couple of weeks while the car was being fixed. Overall this has cost me a lot of time, money and effort to resolve. It is absolutely ridiculous that I had to resolve an issue that was clearly negligence on this dealership's side. The general manager even suggested that someone could have "vandalized" my car in a ******* parking lot. I am asking to be refunded for their mistake.Customer Answer

I took my car for a acceleration fluttering and drive shifter problem on 7/31/22 .*** ******* agent informs me that they have to FIRST DIAGNOSE CAR which involves a ****** fee to see what is needed After there DIAGNOSES they informed me that I needed a major tune up, I had a right rear axel leak and driver shiter body totalling close to ******* so placing my confidence with *** I agreed on amount minus 10% and diagnostic fees.Service agent informs me that the driver shifter kit will take a few days to get and promise to get me a loaner vehicle.August 1st 2022, I was advised by ******* agent that my vehicle was completely tuned up and my spark plugs and coils were in good condition and a oil change and filters where changed.Right rear axle leak repaired and a Acceleration module Recall was addressed at no charge. Still no loaner car as promised.August 4th late afternoon *** ******* agent calls me to tell me that my car won't be ready for pick up due to a piston exiting motor casing that damaged engine upon test run.Now they want me to pay for a brand new motor that they damaged. They want me to come up with **** and I explained that I maintain my cars oil every **** miles and have receipts !!! So what happened when they ran a diagnostic test on engine ? It would of indicated that there's low pressure in engine because of a bad piston or something, ******* agent couldn't not answer why it wasn't discovered. The diagnostic report never indicated engine failure jus a code relating to needing a tune up / oil change etc I strongly believe it had something to do with Acceleration Recall Module or a technical error by technican maybe forgot to replace oil in engine and test ran it dry causing the Piston to exit Motor ! They refuse to work with me and want me to pay for there ERROR. I'm looking for a solution I'm being hijacked
