    I’m deeply concerned about my recent experience with Bob Johnson Auto Group, which I believe involved unethical and potentially predatory business practices.
    My mother went in alone for a diagnostic and repair quote and was given an unreasonably high estimate. When I later called as her son to question the charges, the price was immediately lowered without explanation. This abrupt change in pricing raises serious red flags — I do not believe it was a mistake, but rather a deliberate upcharge targeting a customer who appeared vulnerable.
    The Service Advisor I spoke with was Danny H. While he adjusted the quote after my call, the fact that this happened in the first place suggests a systemic issue that could affect other customers — especially those who may not have someone to advocate for them.
    I’m sharing this to warn others and to encourage accountability. Transparent and honest service should be a basic standard, not something customers have to fight for.

    We’d like to address the points you raised regarding the pricing of your mother’s repair. When your vehicle was initially quoted, our system inadvertently included two sets of brake shoes instead of the one set required for the repair. As soon as this discrepancy was discovered, the quote was promptly adjusted to accurately reflect the necessary parts. This correction in part count resulted in a lower price, and it was finalized prior to your call. Our phone transcript of your call recording indicate that during your conversation with our Service Advisor, Danny *., we clearly explained the reason behind the adjustment, and the overall tone of that call was positive.
    At Bob Johnson Auto Group, a BBB company with an A rating, we are committed to fair pricing and honest service. We regret any confusion the initial misquote may have caused and want to emphasize that our intention was never to levy an undue charge or take advantage of any customer. Our goal is to ensure every customer receives accurate quotes and transparent explanations regarding any changes.     Bob Johnson is not to be trusted. They sold me a bad car and then I was without transportation. They lied over and over and avoided putting me in a loaner car. They then lied and said they would reimburse me for the rental and only did a partial reimbursement. I want my money back.

    I had my engine replaced by Bob Johnson Auto Group at 1271 Ridge Road West, Rochester, NY in May of 2023. It cost me over $12,000.00. So far so good with the engine. I then took it back in August of 2023, because it would clunk when shifting gears or when I put it in gear. They replaced the front axles. They charged me over $1,300.00 for that. The truck is still doing it. I took it back in October of 2023, because it was still clunking when shifting and putting it in gear. They did another inspection and told me that it needed u-joints and a transfer case. They wanted to charge me over $2,000.00. I decided to hold off on doing the work. I took my truck back in on 02/06/2024 because I had an oil leak. After they had my vehicle for a couple of days, they said my transmission lines were leaking. I told them it was oil leaking not the transmission fluid. Steve, the service advisor, insisted it was a transmission fluid leak. I agreed to have them change the transmission lines if that was going to stop the leak. They changed the lines and I paid over $750.00 to have that done. I picked up my truck on 02/07/2024 and parked it in my garage. When I got up the next day and moved it, the oil leak was still there. I took it back in to Bob Johnson Auto Group on 02/13/2024 for another inspection. Steve said, now it’s the transfer case seals and I need to replace the transfer case. He also said they could not find a rebuild or a new transfer case, they would have to install a used one. I was able to find a rebuilt transfer case online, so I’m not sure why Steve could not find one. Steve also offered to install the transfer case and seals at the employee rate. I took my truck and left.
    To get this resolved, I took my truck to ****** ***** *** on 02/19/2024. They did an inspection to determine what was causing the oil leak. They told me the truck needed a u-joint adaptor replacement and the transfer case seals were leaking. I had them do the work.

    Lied to me still trying to get hood fixed after almost a year even went to have paint matched and they never sent hood to them like they said very bad customer service would not even send my worse enemy to them would give minus stars if I could

    The worst place to buy a car ,they don't honor your warranty and they hang up on there customers, they lie do not trust Bob Johnsons go somewhere else please

    I went to get my ac check conditioning problem and I’ve never got that problem resolved in the mist of that they detain me for several days before I could bring it back and then they try to create another problem after ********* paid them for the service that they call down but I never got a chance to see if that was correct my mistake was I signed the work Service sheet before I got a chance because it was near closing and they wanted me to sign out and pay my deductible before I left I later found out I shouldn’t of done that so now I can’t continue to get my car serviced by these people and to me they never fix my problem in the beginning and gave me a rough time I would never shop or advise anyone to go there

    I'm confused the problem was identified and the customer declined repair due to cost. We are happy to repair at the quoted proce when the customer authorizes repair.
