    I found Jeff and Matt very nice. I did have to wait six weeks for the energy audit appointment. Matt met with me first and Jeff arrived later. I was told that my house was 'too tight'. Both Matt and Jeff 'peaked' into my attic via the top of my freezer (which could have been easily moved) and laughed at me when I expressed upset about this. Several days after the audit, I was emailed a flyer with my Voc and particulate scores. The flyer included pictures of items that I could purchase from the company to remedy my Voc and particulate issues. I actually initiated the home energy audit because I experienced ice damming over the winter. In the end, I did not receive any options about my ice damming issue, other than I needed to spend thousands of dollars to have my blown in insulation removed and the foam insulation made more 'tight'.

    *******, I am very sorry you didn't find value in the no cost assessment. Your home has cellulose insulation on the floor of the attic and open cell foam on the roof deck. Neither insulation was done correctly. To fix that would cost a great deal of money. That isn't my fault, it is the fault of the two contractors that did the previous work wrong. I realize that work was installed before you bought the home, but again it is not my fault the fix is thousands of dollars. As for the large commercial size freezer we used to get in the attic, you said "will that hold him?". We laughed because it could be construed as a weight comment about me. I didn't take offense. Your home is one of the largest challenges that I Wise Home Energy faces often. We provide a free assessment and the fix for incorrectly installed work is expensive, so we get blamed. I believe that is called "shoot the messenger". Sincerely, Jeff F*******

    I appreciate your response.
    In actuality, my freezer is a simple box store Kenmore freezer...not a commercial one. The bottom line is that I did not give either of you permission to stand on my freezer, which the manufacturer shared it was NOT built for...."there could be sealant or insulation problems as a result of two grown men standing on it..."
    At a minimum, I would have appreciated being asked for my permission.
    I don't believe my feedback was blaming you folks for the issues you found.
    Honestly, I would have preferred... and I wager *** would agree... a discussion about reasonable alternatives for my VOC and particulate issues that you sent to me via email...for example, a carbon activated furnace filter to help reduce VOC (I researched on GOOGLE). I am guessing that more folks with these same issues could afford that type of remedy...in addition to removing chemicals in and around the home as the flyer you sent in your email suggested.
    Also, it would have been helpful to hear alternative ideas/options (reasonable ones) for remedying my ice damming issue....I believe the average homeowner would have a difficult time spending thousands of dollars to remove insulation....I suspect that ***'s intent in offering the energy audit program is to help its customers address issues within the constraints of their budgets...

    I can’t say enough about Wise. I had 5 HVAC contractors in the house and they were by far the most comprehensive and thorough. Due to special needs for a child, I had a specialized air filter installed in addition to a new furnace, A/C and water heater. Wise talked to the owner of the company 3 times and did additional testing to make sure it was properly installed. I highly recommend Wise.

    We have had Wise Energy insulate sections of our home and recently have had them install an air source heat pump and new water heater. From beginning to end, they were knowledgeable, professional, and accommodating. We had a touchy situation with a neighbor and Wise Energy's owner, Jeff, was very helpful as was Ryan. They both went above and beyond what anyone could expect from a company. They truly cared that the situation was resolved, ensuring the best outcome for all. It was a great experience working with them and I can not recommend them highly enough.
