On Saturday March 1st, I sent a check to "Property Records" for $127.50 for a title for my new property. Property Records is located at the following address : 279 Troy Road, Rensselaer, New York, 12144.
I realized after being advised by my real estate lawyer that I do not need the service , since I will acquire the title by mail through my local county.
I called later that day on March 1st, and left a message. I then followed up ( since I never heard back the following week. I left a message every day for a week. I then finally reached someone on March 5th, and Jessica said they would cancel my check.

On March 12th I saw that they had cashed my check. I called and spoke with Jessica. She said they would mail me a check.

On March 19th I had not received a check. I called again and spoke with Jessica. She told me they sent a check out on March 13th, check #****. I told her I had not received it. I still have not received any check or the title for what I paid for. They have not been answering my calls since March 19th, in which I call every day leaving a message.

Thank you for helping me solve this.

Got a letter in the mail from this company almost 2 months after I bought my home and moved in. The letter was asking for a check for $127 to get a copy of the deed or title to my new house. I spoke with my real estate attorney and he advised me to ignore this letter as it was not legitimate.

I'm executor of a relative's estate and received a blatantly deceptive letter with a "service fee" of $121.50 to obtain a copy of a deed that I already have. This alleged service is predatory and clearly designed to defraud unsuspecting consumers -- in my case, someone dealing with the many duties and bills required of an estate executor. Yes, the fine print in the letter says it's not actually a bill from a government agency. But it sure looks like one with the specific fee ($121.50) and the yellow return envelope that suggests urgency. It's obviously intended to fool unwary consumers, particularly the elderly, into shelling out for information available in the public record for free. The company should stop defrauding people. Absent that, the NY Attorney General or consumer affairs division should put an end to this shady practice.

property profile report as an optional service, and as clearly stated in our
letter, there is no obligation to pay. If you believe you were charged $121.50, please verify the charge with your

without their consent. For further questions, feel free to contact us at any time. Property Records.

The company is trying to procure money for documents to identify my ownership in a property. The first notice they sent was for $118 and the second is for$121.50. This is a deliberate scam. Any property owner can pay the city/town $2 for a recorded document.

I received a letter with a bill for $115. It looks like a real govt document with my information, but it is not.

The business refunded my money. I still think they should not be allowed to call themselves something that sounds like a government agency

, making clear to the home buyer is not obligated to make payment and the company is not a government entity or representative.
