My car has been at Lou's Auto Repair since November 13, 2023. I have *** ****** as my warrantee insurance. It took a month for him to get the pictures of the car into the insurance company. Then the pictures weren't clear enough to see the point of failure that the insurance company needed to complete the claim. The insurance company sent a rep. to inspect the car and he said the engine was toast and would bring it back to my insurance. The insurance said they still wanted a picture of the point of failure. They told him they wouldn't cover the cost of tear down and I told him that I would cover it then. Just get it done. The insurance company had an issue with a decal I had for advertising a business I wanted to start. They thought the car was a commercial vehicle. After it went to the right department on December 11, 2023 *** ****** concluded it was in fact not a commercial vehicle and they still needed pictures of the point of failure. Lou continued to fight them on this because he thought they should just approve it because it was part of the warrantee and they should. After me fighting with him and pushing him to do his job and just tear down the engine to find where it failed he finally got my car in his bay of the shop on January 29, 2024. It then proceeded to take him almost 4 weeks to tear down the engine. He reported to the insurance company that it only took 6hrs to do so on February 16, 2024. On Wednesday February 21, 2024 my claim was approved through *** ******. I received my rental car on Thursday February 22, 2024. Until this point my family and I were without a car. Lou was told it would take 8 days for the new motor to arrive. It then arrived on Monday March 4, 2024. They didn't have the right equipment to get the motor off the trailer so the next day they came back with the right equipment and gave Lou the motor. I called Lou on Tuesday March 5, 2024.
