I went into the shop for a fill, as he was doing my nails, he showed me my pinky and ask if it was ok, I said no you made it cricket/lopsided, he got angry and told me if I didn’t want it cricket lopsided I have to pay extra, I replied I didn’t come in here with lopsided nails, so I’m not paying extra for even looking nails, he then replied that I would need to get a new set and pay extra if I want even nails, I told him absolutely not, they refused to do my nails, I told them I can’t leave here without my nails done, they refused, very rude, I’ve even asked them if they have a translator, maybe there is a disconnect with communication, he said I don’t care, he and his other associates was very rude, I’ve never felt so disrespected ever in my life.

I would first like to apologize if I seemed rude that day. This customer came in with nails and acrylic already on, I have never seen her before this occurrence. My job for providing a fill is to remove any lifted acrylic, prep the nails for acrylic application, add more acrylic to cover up the nail growth from the previous set, and then shape the nail. The customer came in with a set from a different technician not in my salon, sat down and I started my job. I took off her polish, and prepped the nails for application. I prepped her nails and started to apply acrylic to the pinky finger. After application but before I had a chance to file the nail, the customer said that it was crooked. She did not give me a chance to finish the application and file the rest of her nails. Doing acrylic fills is typically is a “trust the process” situation. Most clients come in and their nails are grown out, discolored, chipped, lifted, and or crooked. This is natural from wear and tear or how their nails naturally grow. Also, most people have crooked fingers or nails. This is natural, I always try my best to straighten out the nail. This customer unfortunately could have had the previous nail tech she went to apply the nail crookedly, or her nail bed is crooked and the nail looked crooked growing out. I always file after application when working a fill to try to fix any crookedness. Ultimately, I think there was a miscommunication between the customer and I. I did not charge her anything that day. I recommended that if she wanted her nails to be very straight, that she would need a new set. She did not want to do that as it would be a different price than a fill. Again, I did not charge her for any work or prep that I did.
