Yesterday on 27 July at around 10 AM, my son discovered he was locked out of his apartment and called a locksmith company whose name he saw on a sticker on the outside of his apartment building. It was for Mr. Locks on ********** in *********. The company proceeded to send a man posing as a locksmith. He lied to my son and said that he could not open the door for him and that he would have to drill through the door to remove the door k*** and lock and to replace both of them. This was an absolute fabrication. All the man needed to do was unlock the door, but deceived my son and told him this procedure was necessary and proceeded with it. He charged my son the exorbitant amount of $631.!!!Since there have been so many scams involving supposed locksmith companies, and particularly Mr. Locks, we immediately received a fraud alert from our credit card company. We told them we are disputing the charge, but we have no idea what kind of lie the company will tell Barclays MasterCard. My son is 22 years old and has been in ************* for exactly one month and he was desperate to get into his apartment because his landlord did not have an extra key.My son was totally victimized by Mr. Locks There is so much bad information about this disreputable company on the Internet on Reddit and other sites....including of course, the Better Business Bureau. Most telling, is an article from the ************** that specifically names this particular company and how they rip off people. I will attach some of the article from the newspaper. I tried to write the company through email, and of course, being the shysters that they are, the email was bounced back to me saying could not be received! What a scam this is and how dare these crooks do this to people. The article in the ************** speaks about how they hire Israeli citizens that are coming to ******, and they train them to steal from people. This is an absolutely despicable practice.
