      Arrived frozen thawed out spoiled made my Chihuahua deathly sick. The company acted like I did something wrong but the bricks of food were thawed at room temp 24 hours before they were fed. Every chicken packet was rotten beyond belief the entire house stunk. Unknowingly we still tried to feed our dogs because we just thought the chicken was extra stinky My hound still ate it but my Chihuahua wouldnt touch it unless we added some of her original food to it. Afterwords she was sick for 3 days with violent diarrhea This was told to the company and they simply didnt care enough to offer any refund nor apology.Im reading other similar comments here but the farmers dog website doesnt have any negative feedback feedback to refer to.If a class action comes out please let me testify I have kept all my communication and lack of company responsibility.Dont kill your dog with this nasty food

      Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us regarding your experience. We appreciate your feedback and are sorry to hear that your pup was feeling unwell. We hope that they are feeling much better now. In the meantime, we understand your concern and would like to mention that leaving food out at room temperature can cause bacteria, according to USDA guidelines. For this reason, we recommend defrosting packs in the refrigerator where temperatures are controlled so that packs stay within health and food safety regulations. We know the importance of adhering to guidelines and are committed to providing quality products to our customers.       Boxer, Amstaff and lab will not touch their dry food mixed with farmers dog. I tasted it and it tasted like a salt lick.

      Hi **** Thanks so much for flagging with us and I'm happy to clarify here. While there's a tiny bit of salt in our vitamin mix this isn't added for taste, but only added to meet daily requirements. To further clarify, our recipes are all formulated by board-certified vet nutritionists to meet AAFCO complete and balanced requirements. Nonetheless, I do see a specialist has reached out with more information on this and included some additional tips to support your pup with transitioning onto their fresh recipes. we know transitioning to a new diet can be a big change, and we're always here to help. Certainly keep us posted with any further questions.

      Their pricing is deceptive. I have a puppy and her portion changed so the packaging also changed. The packages got smaller but I paid the same price per package. They also make it very hard to find the cancel button. When you do deceptive things like this it means you are not what you say you are.

      Within the first two weeks of switching to The ******** Dog, I see a definite difference (improvement!) in our dog. His fur is shinier and he doesn't get that bloated look after he eats. He seems more energetic and he has a happier expression. He definitely loves the food - we have only tried the Pork and the Turkey, but may add in the Beef flavor for our next order. The food is expensive, especially since we have a large breed dog, however, the benefits far outweigh the cost. Because of the expense, we hesitated for quite a while before trying The ******** Dog, but I am so glad that made the switch. Our dog is too!!!

      I signed up for the recommended package for my dog, then she "lost too much weight" according to my vet who was concerned. Contacted them and was gaslit and told this is the right amount of food but that I can upgrade to more food for more money. Gross.

We hope it's reassuring to know that our recommendations are based on extensive research by our team of board certified veterinary nutritionists and we've seen many dogs thrive on our portion recommendations.

      Since no one knows a pup better than their owners, we we do ask that customers keep an eye on their dog's weight and body condition to ensure they're receiving exactly what they need. Our portion recommendation is a starting point that *** need to be adjusted depending on your pup's indvidual needs and we're always happy to help increase or decrease calories as needed!

      Exercise caution when considering this dog food for your sensitive pet baby(s). Unfortunately, my experience with it has been far from positive for my Chihuahua. Since November 2023, he has faced gastro issues sparked from a change to this diet, requiring visits to the vet's office. If your dog has any sensitivities or gastrointestinal problems, do a lot of research before trying this particular food. Despite my hopes for the fresh and human-grade qualities, the transition, even when done gradually, has been problematic for my pet.I am happy to hear that other reviewers have had a good experience with this diet as I realize nothing is a "one size fits all" scenario. I am not saying it isn't a good brand, but it did spark some issues with my sensitive boy.

      Our 18 year old dog loved the food even though it was only a short time before he passed away. He was very anxious when it was food time. They were very accommodating with my orders to fit our dogs needs. After I canceled my orders because of our dogs passing they were great and sympathetic. They sent a plant unexpectedly as a memory of our pet. I cannot tell you how pleased I was with this company and customer service.
