I have been a member for many years and typically only cashed out my points for small gift cards around $5. Recently I started spending more time in the app and was really happy that I was getting so many surveys. I always take my time and provide thorough and thoughtful answers. The first time I try to redeem my points for a larger gift card which was $50, my account is immediately suspended and have reached out to customer support to no avail. Now I see many people are having the exact same problem. Thats not right to do this to people who put a lot of time into something to help make ends meet.Initial Complaint

Consumers like myself take surveys on this site to earn points that you can redeem for gift cards. This is the 2nd time that upon redeeming they have canceled my account and didn't pay out gift card as requested. This time however I know my account was in good standing because I had just reached out to customer support because I needed the country code for my phone number. That issue was cleared up the next morning so I redeemed enough points for a $30 Amazon gift card and as soon as I did that my account was flagged and canceled. I have done nothing wrong, I take a lot of time in effort in answering questions thoughtfully. This platform is paid by businesses to gather opinions of consumers like myself but are clearly scamming those of us who do the work and I have provided just a few comments from others like myself on just one post on the Crowdtap ******** page, there are thousands more like myself that this keeps happening to and Crowdtap is always so vague and unable to tell you what you did wrong. It is highly suspicious that as soon as a person redeems what they have rightfully earned that they find an excuse not to provide reward promised. I will also be reaching out the the Attorney General in ** and also the *** but would like to get what I was promised, I want nothing more to do with this company because they are scamming us.Initial Complaint

Crowdtap is an app through which you can earn gift cards by completing consumer surveys. When I set up my Crowtap account in June 2024, I set it up with Apple ID and had my email hidden, so the two $5 Amazon gift cards ($10 total) I earned by doing dozens of time-consuming surveys were sent to an email address that was inaccessible. According to the Crowdtap help page, this is a common problem, and the page prompted me to reach out to support to get help. The cards were issued on June 27 and June 29, and I've contacted support ************************************** so. Each time, I received some sort of response about them working on it, but they never followed through. I simply want the gift cards owed to me. Thanks so much for any help you can provide.Business Response

On December 30th, Crowdtap support committed to sending me an Amazon gift card that was sent to an incorrect email address. Follow-up emails were sent on January 7th, 13th, 22nd, and February 1st. I have yet to receive this gift card and support has stopped replying to my emails as of January 22nd.Business Response

The business claims to pay out rewards for survey responses. The company will deactivate your account if you earn rewards too quickly rather than pay out the promised gift cards. This is fraud plain and simple. Information was collected from respondents, which I assume Crowdtap was paid for by the companies contracting with them. Rewards were then denied to the respondents.Business Response

My wife and I have both had our **** **** (DBA Crowdtap) accounts flagged several times and ultimately terminated, seeming for no valid reason. We each use our own computers and access our respective accounts independently so it is not a matter of attempted fraud on our part. However, Crowdtap has provided no explanation for these actions. We consistently provide thorough and thoughtful responses to surveys, so the issue isn't related to the quality of our contributions. This latest incident involved my account being terminated, followed by my wife's account being terminated a day or two later. Despite numerous attempts to contact Crowdtap support (including "Tappy"), we have received no response whatsoever. I have been lucky enough to communicate witha lady name ****** (at ****). Several conversations with her resluted in her commenting that she would place both our accounts on an "exmption list" that would supposedly prevent this from occuring again. The problem was solved tempporarily. My wife and I subsequently ordered gift cards for ******* with our accumulated points and sure enough, BAM, we were banned again. I suspect this is a tactic to reduce the amount that they have to pay.. Their responses to inquiries are vague and unhelpful. Furthermore, Crowdtap owes me a $10 ******* gift card that I ordered shortly before my account was abruptly terminated as well as gift cards my wife ordered.Business Response

My account was recently suspended after being a member for almost 10 years with no explanation. I have participated in surveys AND focus groups and dedicated a lot of time and effort to this platform. I recently moved from ** to ** and my account was suddenly blocked and suspended. Upon contacting Crowdtap, the representative named GUY would not help me or offer me any kind of assistance. After 10 years I am so saddened to be treated like I deliberately violated any terms of this platform. Please help me get my account reinstated by **********************.Business Response

Until a half hour ago, I was a member of Crowdtap for several years. I do the surveys and get rewarded with points that i can use for gift cards. Recently I participated in their 12 days of Christmas survey contest where I was to get 500 points at the completion of the contest. I did not get the points and reached out to customer support. They told me they would investigate and let me know when the points would arrive. I continued to do surveys and had a substantial number of points racked up that i was going to use today for a gift card. However, when i logged back on in the afternoon it said my account was deactivated for doing something wrong. I did nothing wrong. I have been been foul, rude or improper. I am guessing that because I inquired, they banned my account. I lost my points, my recent gift card request and now can't log in anymore. I have tried reaching out to support, but all they have is AI and the support team has not responded. It is so frustrating. I am hoping someone can help me.Customer Answer

I was doing surveys everyday. I was abiding by the guidelines and I was honestly on my way to a $50 dollar gift card before I cashed out on a 25$ amazon gift card which I thought I would get. I had sent them an email because talking to the boy got me no where and told me my gift card was no where to be found under my email. So I was concerned, only to find out 2 days later they banned my account. I appealed it and had someone tell me they would reinstate my account. And they never did. They never reinstated my account. I never got my gift card. I never got to finish my points. Just all around *****.Business Response
